WARMINGBY ROBERTO AND CRISTIANENVIRONMENT 3S TERMOLI, ITALY

WHAT IS IT?

Global warming is a phenomenon that began with the growing industrialization in the world.

Global warming is a growing phenomenon caused by human activities by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere:

Industrial activities; Deforestation, infact in Italy the 35% of the

forest ecosystems is under conditions of risk; the most tree that is under conditions of risk are oaks, conifers and chestnuts;

Burning of fossil fuels; Agriculture and intensive farming.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES?

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?The effects of global warming are a lot:

Rising sea levels with the risk of severe flooding;

Expansion of desert areas and dry river; Withdrawal and melting glaciers; Risk of extinction of many species of animals; Dangers to human activities such as in

agricultural production.

PARIS, UNITED NATIONS CLIMATE CHANGE

The United Nations Climate Change Conference is being this year in Le Bourget, a town near Paris.

It is the 11° session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.

KYOTO PROTOCOLWHAT IS IT?

The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty, which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES?Reduce greenhouse gases emissions, based on the premise that global warming exists and man-made CO2 emission have caused it. The Protocol is based on the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities: it puts the obligation to reduce current emissions on developed countries on the basis that they are historically responsible for the current levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The conference objective is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate from all the nations of the world.

Researchers in the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have agreed on that this is necessary to avoid serious climate catastrophes and that a result in turn requires greenhouse gas emission.

THE CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE

WHAT IS IT?Greenpeace is one of the largest environmental movement in the world. It is a not violent association that denouncing environmental problems in the world.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THIS ASSOCIATION? It’s about three million supporters worldwide.

WHERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OFFICE OF GREENPEACE? The head office is in Amsterdam.

WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES? The main targets of Greenpeace are: no deforestation, protect the seas and oceans, decrease the intensive agriculture and OGM, and eliminate nuclear power plants.

GREENPEACE

LOCATION AND PARTICIPATIONThe location of UNFCCC talks is rotated

by regions throughout United Nations countries. The conference will be held at Le Bourget from November 30 to December 11, 2015.

As 2012 France generated over 90% of its electricity from zero carbon sources, including nuclear, hydroeletric and wind. By producing fewer greenhouses gases, France’s advanced thechologies, mostly powered by nuclear power systems.
