Childhood Song:

My childhood song was ‘superstar’ by Jamelia. Even now I can still remember all the lyrics. I loved how the song was upbeat and had a cheery feel about it. When it was released in 2000, it was played everywhere, and everyone was very entertained by the song. Due to ‘superstar’ getting so much positive

feedback, it came out third in the charts.

This song always made me want to get up and dance, I wanted to copy all the moves in the music video and pretend

to be her. I loved the way Jamelia dressed, she looked cool with a hip hop type of

fashion sense. I inspired to be like her.

I don’t think I could ever get old of this song, I still love it now its just one of them songs that will always be memorable in my head.

Early Teens:In my early teens I fell in love with Destiny's Child. There were three band members;Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. My favorite songs from them were ‘Cater 2 U’ and ‘Say my name’

I think I was going through a stage of mushy RnB Loves Songs, and listening to them would be Soothing, relaxing and magical.

They were known to be the Three Divas. They all had a unique style of fashion which girls Looked up too.

I love the video of ‘Cater 2 U’ as all three girls Were dressed in long black classy dresses, whichMade them look hot and elegant at the same time.I remember buying a dress similar to theirs, andPretended to be part of the group.

Present:‘Adorn’ by Miguel is my current favorite song. The beat to this song is

tranquilizing and calming, its so soft to my ears and relaxes my mind.

I love his voice. Its just gentle and heavenly like. Also the lyrics

to this song is so passionate. Which adds to the whole smooth feel.

I love the slowness of the song and the affection he puts in.

most of all this songs have the same vibe and feel to it.

The video to this song is very slow going and with slow moving shots and the lighting is low key

mirroring the pace and beat of the song.

Links between the songs:

All of the songs I have chosen fall into the genre of either hip hop or RnB.

I’ve always loved a good beat to any song, even if the lyrics were rubbish, the beat of the song would matter most. In all of the song I have chosen, the

beats sound similar.

Starting from ‘Superstar’ the song was upbeat compared to ‘Cater 2 U’ was more of a lovey dovey low tempo song. As the years passed on the

pace/tempo of the music I listened to slowly decreased. ‘Adorn’ has a significantly slower beat then ‘Superstar.’

However I still listen to many other genres, but these three songs are memorized in my head forever.
