Costume & Make-Up• Immediately we see that this is a pop band

with different areas of skill, mainly the singer who is shown continuously in close-ups and mid-shots to portray his physical appearance, as a sex symbol, along with portray for male interests.

• His lack of clothing, displays the tattoos he has on his skin, reflecting on a possible rebellious nature as well as standing out.

• Make-Up was also used in connection to the narrative of this video, linking back to the title and lyrics a shown to the right side of this point.

• There’s also a general theme in the clothing, setting the characters used back in the 60s or 70s, referring to the Mick Jagger from Rolling Stones, reminding us of their decade, being massive stars too.

Sound & Editing• In this music video, the sound was

set to have a constant rhythm and only become fainter while the artist was singing.

• The sound was also in sync with a number of the cross-cuts and shot reverse shot from the band to the extra characters in the video.

• Through these the designer used certain aspects of the music, like the beats of the drum for moments to cut in time to this in fast rapid progression.

Narrative & Setting• The main focus of narrative in this video, is

setting it back in 60s/70s and reflecting the “hip & relaxed” mood of those decades.

• It also has clear connection to emotion shared between men and women, with links in the lyrics to men’s supposed power over women.

• Even the setting portrays the simplicity behind this video, with bare studio and the plain electronic equipment, surrounding this atmosphere of fun and pleasure.

• Also there is a reference to patriotism, linked to through the presentation of the Union Jack, also showing another reference to Mick Jagger with the artist posing in front of the flag.

• The use of a artist from outside the band (Christina Aguilera), catches further interest from the viewers, mostly a male audience would have interest here.

Black n’ White & Colour• The use of Black N’ White images in the

opening of the video, not only aids in the aging of the video, linked to the importance of Mick Jagger, but also its’ effect gives the video a state of realism.

• When the video changes into colour, which is in sync with the video portrayal, gives the video a more emotion edge with colour as well as portraying the style of the dress code maybe as a fashion statement to the audience.

• The Black n’ White footage also creates the illusion of it being like an interview when Mick Jagger is being questioned at the start of the video, once again so a link between music videos and TV programmes.
