BorrowingYou can borrow up to 15 itemsMost items can be borrowed for two

weeksSome books can not be borrowed. They have a label on the cover. This means that there are always copies of important books available

To borrow a book, you bring it up to the library staff at the library circulation desk.

Books are returned to the library staff at the front desk

At the moment, the library doesn’t have many books. We are getting more each day.

However, while there are not many books, only borrow what you can use that day and return them as soon as you have finished so they are available for everyone to use.

Page 6: The MUFY library

What happens if you forget to return your library book?If you have overdue items from

the library, you can not borrow anything else until you have returned the overdue item.

If you have lost something that you borrowed from the library, you will have to pay for the item. Ask the library staff how much the item cost.

Page 7: The MUFY library

What do you do if the book you want is not on the shelves? If it has been borrowed by

another person, ask a library staff member to ‘reserve’ it for you. This means that when the book is returned, it will be put aside for you.

If the library doesn’t have the book, give the details about the book (author and title) to a library staff member. We will see if it is possible to buy the book.

How do I locate the books and other things I want in the library?

You can search for books, DVDs, magazines etc in the online library catalogue.

The link to the online library catalogue is http://mcpl.softlinkhosting.com.au/liberty/libraryHome.do. This link is available on each English unit’s Moodle page.

If you use a book in the library, put it back in the same location you found it. This means that the next person needing to use it can find it easily. If you are not sure of the correct location, put the item on a trolley.
