The Immense Benefits of Kindergarten Cooking
Do you think kids are only chaotic, and cannot be
of any help to you with anything around the house?
Well, have you ever given a thought as to how
would your little one react if he was asked to cook
with you? Kids are inquisitive in nature, and would
love to try out new things at any given time.
Besides, the whole experience of preparing
something from scratch can help build their self-
assurance, get a greater understanding of an assortment of things, and promote healthy
eating habits too. Wish to know what all cooking can do? Read on.
1. Responsible young adults: Kids love being called matured. They love the
feeling of being all grown-up. It is a special emotion. Just make sure you are
constantly supervising them, and the activities they indulge in are age-
appropriate. You are sure to be surprised at how responsible kids can really be.
2. The science behind everything: Cooking involves a lot of science. Why do
cakes rise, why did the lasagne change colour? All this need you not teach, the
kids will learn by themselves. In fact, when you explain to your little one, you
yourself will get a better understanding of so many things, isn’t it?
3. Math and language skills: Kids can learn basic math skills by doing something
as easy as counting eggs, assembling the ingredients for pizza, or pouring water
into a measuring cup. Additionally, you can read out from a recipe book and
show them pictures for them to understand things better and thus improve their
vocabulary and spelling.
4. Explore the 4 vital senses: Kitchen is the best place to explore the fundamental
senses. For instance, listen to the recipe, see the cake rise, smell the lasagne,
and taste the ingredients.
5. Get them to eat stuff:
Kindergarteners are extremely picky
eaters, and they have a choice of their own
foods that they love, and sometimes,
absolutely dislike the others. Kids learn to
appreciate certain foods only when they
see it for themselves or experiment with
them. This in return, gives you the
opportunity to talk about the healthy foods and their benefits on the mind and
body.
6. Boost their morale: When they have finally prepared the dish, there is an
overwhelming sense of achievement. A morale boost that instils loads of
confidence and self-assurance. Simply praise their efforts even if it dint work out
as planned. Let them know you are proud.

will help your little one be organised and in control.
