• There were two reasons why countries built up their militaries. They are peer pressure and the other is to protect their colonies. They also used a mandatory draft to build

up their armies. • 1. Russia had the largest army• 2. Great Britain had the largest navy• 3. Germany had the more well trained

army.

Trench Warfare

Trench ware fare was used to protect their positions to cut down losses

Both sides used Trenches

All night supplies were brought in, scouts were sent out

At dawm/dusk attacks came: Hit them with artillery then men go over the top.

Problems with trenches: mud rats, smell, body rot. Staying dry, maggots, lice and disease

Why The U.S Entered WW1

The sinking of lusitania- it was a passenger ship that secretly carrying ammunition.A German submarine sunk the lusitania- 1198 passengers died (128 were Americans)

who sent a telegraph to Mexico promising American land of they attacked Mexico.

By july 1918 The U.S has 1 million troops in the warBy October, 1918 German lines are crumbling
