CURRICULAR PROJECTS
March ’13 Accelero-Braking Mechanism (Final Year Engineering Project)
A Unique Model of a Bike was made by our team for disable people to equip them to ride.
A model of a rear wheel and a bike handle was made.
Accelerator, neutral and brake was arranged on one hand itself.
For acceleration the procedure remains similar to a normal bike.
For neutral we have to release the acceleration and bring back to its normal position.
For braking we have to rotate in the reverse direction.
This project was done basically for handicap people who cannot ride bikes because of physical (legs)
disability.
The brakes are also provided on the hand.
Outcome Achieved: The project was certified successful and it needs to be taken to the commercial level. This
can be a big boon for the disabled
May ’10 Solar Stirling Engine (Beta Type)
A stirling engine is a type of heat engine (External combustion piston engine type).
A parabolic disc was set up.
An Stirling engine is so arranged in a perfect position with the parabolic disc such that the sun rays reflects
from the disc and heats ups the bottom of the Stirling engine. Hence the engine starts running and generates
power.
Achievements: This project was held into a competition and won first prize for a unique designing of solar
Stirling engine.
Also won the project competition and paper presentation held at L&T Institute of Technology
TRAININGS & PRESENTATIONS
Presentation on Lithium-air battery for Hybrid and Electric vehicle:
A detailed research, presentation and report were made on the topic of Production aspects of Lithium-air
battery for hybrid and Electric vehicles.
A study of electro-chemical composition, problems and their solution faced in production, the future use, cost
and effective production was done and presented.
Automobile Training program:
This training program consisted of automobile dynamics and designing and design stimulation analysis
comprising of theory and practical sessions.
In static part we learned about chassis and frame, suspension system, steering system, braking system, engine,
tires and tread design.
In dynamic part we learned about steering dynamics, braking dynamics, aerodynamics of an automobile.
Learned stimulation analysis computer software named Solid Edges, which can be used to construct every
square part of automobile and do the analysis.
Case Study on Increasing Productivity by Telecommunication
Preparation of a comprehensive list of database of all inventories.
Using standardize formats for display of information, thus eliminating need of hefty paper work.
Using electronic equipments like intercom system, EPBAX system, Inter organizational emails, etc.
Installation of surveillance systems like CCTV camera in workshop to increase productivity.
Planning of manpower and formation of shifts to ensure efficient work.
Using tools like video conferencing, audio and video chats to enable inexpensive means of communication and
saves time and money.
Presentation on process layout in industry which covered the following
Shop floor space should me favorable for the workers to work systematically.
Study of Inputs such as plant, labor, material, tools, energy, clean environment.
Study of Scheduling the operations, man, machine, material.
Achieving a quality product which should be satisfying for the buyer and increase the productivity of the
industry.
