Landforms
-is the land part of the earths surface.
Different Types of Landforms: a. plain –is a large area of a low flatland. Most people build their homes, schools, factories and big buildings here. - is good for farming.
Examples: Central Luzon Iloilo Bicol Cotabato
b. mountain – is a high landform with a slope. Most mountains covered with forests. Many plants and animals live on mountains. Gold, copper, and iron mines are also found in the mountains.Examples: Mount Apo in Davao Mount Makiling in Laguna Mount Banahaw in Quezon
c. volcano –is a mountain that has an opening or crater. When a volcano erupts, hot materials inside the earth come out. These materials can harm people, plants, and animals.Examples: Mount Mayon in Albay Mount Pinatubo in Zambales Mount Taal in Batangas Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon
e. plateau- is a flatland on a high place. It is cool in place.
Examples: Plateau in Baguio City Plateau in Tagaytay City Plateau in Bukidnon Plateau in Lanao
d. hill- is a high landform that is a lower than
mountain. It can be a grazing place for cattle.
f. valley – is a low land bordered by mountains.Examples: Cagayan Valley- is the largest valley in the Philippines Trinidad Valley in Benguet South Cotabato in Mindanao
g. peninsula- is a part of the land that extends out to the sea. It is almost surrounded by water.Examples: Bataan Bicol Zamboanga
h. island- is a body of land completely surrounded by water. Examples: Luzon- largest island in the Philippines Mindanao
