Patrika is no.1 in MPCG Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, two parts of the erstwhile united Madhya Pradesh state, together form one of the most populated regions in India with a combined population of over 10.05 crores. Being called as the heart of India, this region bears a great significance in the country's geographical and monetary value. Since past few years, both of these states have been registering a gradual growth with a slow yet steady increase in the living standard of its people. In this similar period, the state media industry has witnessed some drastic changes in the equations. Started moderately just a few years back, Patrika has become the most popular news daily in this region, beating the competitor Dainik Bhaskar in its base market. According to the Indian Readership Survey 2013 (IRS'13), Patrika is the leading newspaper publication group with over 46.28 lakhs subscribers in this region, which is 10.27 lakh higher as compared to DB Corp (36,01,000). This makes RP No. 1 news paper in MP and CG putting togather. As per IRS 2013, Patrika is quite popular in both male and female readers in MPCG. While among male readers, patrika has registered an AIR of 22.61 lakhs (as compared to DB corp's + Bhaskar Prakashan's 18.07 lakh), it has as much as 16 lakhs AIR among female readers in MPCG (as against 13.04 lakhs for DB Corp + Bhaskar Prakashan). Patrika also gains huge attention of youngerster and teenagers with a readership of 22.61 lakhs and 9.88 lakhs, respectivly.
