In this similar period, the state media industry has witnessed some drasticchanges in the equations. Started moderately just a few years back, Patrika has become the most popular newsdaily in this region, beating the competitor Dainik Bhaskar in its base market.According to the Indian Readership Survey 2013 (IRS'13), Patrika is the leading newspaper publication groupwith over 46.28 lakhs subscribers in this region, which is 10.27 lakh higher as compared to DB Corp(36,01,000). This makes RP No. 1 news paper in MP and CG putting togather.As per IRS 2013, Patrika is quite popular in both male and female readers in MPCG. While among male readers,patrika has registered an AIR of 22.61 lakhs (as compared to DB corp's + Bhaskar Prakashan's 18.07 lakh), ithas as much as 16 lakhs AIR among female readers in MPCG (as against 13.04 lakhs for DB Corp + BhaskarPrakashan). Patrika also gains huge attention of youngerster and teenagers with a readership of 22.61 lakhs and9.88 lakhs, respectivly.
