Which Font Should You Use

Serif fonts have little feet that are supposed to make the letters more readable. Times New Roman is popular

Sans-Serif font is as it sounds – sans meaning “without” so sans-serif is “without feet” – Helvetica is a sans-serif font

We have been told that Serif and San Serif are best

Times New Roman is the least readable on the screen of a computer and especially hand held devices. The screen has to have a high resolution for the little feet to appear.

So

Sans-Serif fonts are best on line because they are less confusing to the eye

These fonts are good for print on paper

The most legible fonts for online writing areArial, Verdana, Courier At the 10 point size Verdana was preferred and

Software Usability Research Laboratory

For easiest online reading, use Arial 12-point size and larger

If you have to use smaller than 12-points, use Verdana at 10 points

To accommodate older readers use 14 points
