OUR PARTNERS

Ayaslar Sehit Jandarma Uzman Onbasi Ibrahim Ay Ilkogretim Okulu

Our school is in a small town named Ayaslar, in Konya, in the Central Anatolia Region

(Turkey). In our school, families are not rich.

We have 132 pupils,( kindergarten, primary, secondary), and 13 teachers in our school.

Our school has social-economical disadvantage. It is in a small village. We haven´t lots

of students with problem. Our students have generally a life closed to outdoor

environment.

Some of our parents haven't got a job, and some of our students haven't access to

computer or internet at home.

Szkola Podstawowa nr 2 im. Ojca Sw. Jana Pawla II w Chmielniku

Szkola Podstawowa nr 2 is situated in Chmielnik, a medium-size town, very close to the

city of Rzeszów (which is the capital of Podkarpackie voivodeship). SP no.2 is one of

the three primary schools in Chmielnik (Poland). It is a small, rural school – the number

of pupils is almost 90 and they are all of rural background. It is a very dynamic

institution, offering a number of activities for its children and taking part in numerous

projects and cooperations.

We wish to educate our children in the atmosphere of safety, patriotism and the

Christian religion. We want them to be active, open-minded and self-confident.

"Hristo Botev" Primary school

"Hristo Botev" Primary school is situated in the village of Mokren .It is a small

mountainous village in the district of Sliven, in Bulgaria .The children attending the

school are mostly of Roma ethnicity. Great number of them come from poor families.

In some families grandparents take care for the children because parents work and live

abroad .This fact causes some difficulties to the school process. We have children with

special needs in the school. They are integrated in the regular school program.

Roma students have a lot of absences from school and they need to be highly motivated

and included in various forms of school life and extra class activities.

Answer these questions:

1. How many pupils are studying in Ayaslar School?

2. Where is Ayaslar Sehit Jandarma Uzman Onbasi Ibrahim Ay Ilkogretim Okulu?

3. Where is the Szkola Podstawowa nr 2 im. Ojca Sw. Jana Pawla II w Chmielniku?

4. Where is Mokren?

5. Are most of the families in Mokren school rich or poor?

6. Which school is bigger the Turkish or the Polish school?

7. What´s the problem with the Roman pupils at Mokren school?

COMENIUS In February, in Comenius Project, had a visit of some teachers and

students from Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria and Portugal. Some students

like me lived this project nearer, because the kids from the other

countries stayed at our homes and we went with them at all the trips

and the activities.

On Friday 22nd we met them in our school because they were there,

and we went to our homes.

The next day we visited Seville. We saw The Alcázar, we ate in a

typical restaurant and in the afternoon we went to the Spain Square

because we was very tired. They were very surprised with the orange

trees: in their towns they haven't because of the cold weather.

The Sunday we visited Cádiz. We had breakfast there, then we went

for a long walk around the town, had lunch and listened to some

Chirigotas carnival groups). Later we went to the beach and the

Polish mates and teachers had a bath in the beach. We took a lot of

photos too.

On Monday we went to the school together because our school

prepared a welcome for the different countries. We went to the

town hall to meet our Mayor. Later We did a presentation of our

country for them in the Youth Club. In the afternoon we went to

Jerez and went shopping.

On Tuesday we went to school and we celebrated The day of

Andalusia. We acted a play and other things. We had a typical

Andalusian breakfast and later we went to our classroom. At 4

o'clock we went to visited Sanlúcar. We visited a museum, we went

shopping and we had dinner there.

The next day Polish students stayed in our classes and at 1 o'clock

we said them goodbye. In these 30 minutes we only cried and

kissed, hugged each other.

In these time we shared smiles, laughs and a part of our life and

these are very important for us. We learn a lot of things about their

cultures and traditions and in this time we learn to love of their

countries.

After the meeting, a sixth grade girl

and a teacher wrote two articles

for our web and a magazine,

telling our impressions.

during the new year.

November the 1st is All Saints Day.

This is a very important tradition in Spain.

People think about their dead families and

visit the cemeteries, to clean the tombs

and put nice flowers on them.

We eat a special pastry called bones of saints

these days

Holy Week is a time to celebrate the death and

resurrection of Jesus. .It is in March or in April. Long

processions representing the Passion of Chris march

from their churches to the cathedra every day

It is celebrated on June 24th, at night. It is the shortest

night of the year In a lot of town people make bonfires

and burn old clothes, old pieces of furniture or dolls.

On 5th of January, at night we celebrate

Three Wise Men. There are parades in all

over the country and children are so

happy because they bring their

Christmas presents to them.
