How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts (DVD

The main text is the music video, this took us a long time to plan, shoot and edit, Our music video is based in the autumn so therefore it is slow paced and has a very good theme which is romance and heartache as we can see throughout the video. The video is about a heartbroken girl who has lost the one person she loved the most and is very sorry about it, in this video we see hurt writing some lyrics which tells us the story and we see the good times she had with the person she loved in flashbacks. We tried to us other texts which related back to this one so that we could create a package of products that work very well together.

This is the digipak we created as a group for our CD, the image for the front cover of the CD was an image from our music video that we used to show it was autumn as the trees leaves were falling apart. The video has many mid-shots of nature such as trees, leaves, a river etc. We have given copyright at the bottom of the digipak at the back. It is also on the magazine advert.

I think the magazine advert works really well with the digipak and the video because they all use similar shade, tones and colour and the background is quite a neutral colour just like in the video frequently, these colours are beige, brown and slightly orange which are the colour of the leaves.

I think that all of these texts work well together because they have the same colour scheme. During our music video you can tell that all these images are still shots from the music video and yet again you can tell that the digipak’s theme is autumn as you can see a lot of leaves have fallen down as there is no sun to help them blossom into something very beautiful.

Conclusion

In conclusion I think they all work very well together because they all have a similar colour scheme and they are all related to the autumn weather which makes it more interesting because in autumn everything falls apart and they’re relationship has fallen apart so therefore they all combine very well as they all tell that story of things falling apart and wanting to be fixed and realising what they actually miss when they no longer have it.
