Lazarus Saturday

Lazar’s day is the day before Palm Sunday

(Tzvetnitza). It is an Eastern Orthodox holiday. The

young girls called„lazarki“ gather flowers which they

braid into hoops for the Tzvetnitza holiday (on the

next day).

The young girls are dressed in

national traditional garbs. They sing

Lazarus songs and bless for health

and happiness. We give them eggs

which they will paint for Easter.

On this day our

kindergarten celebrates as

well, because its name is

“Latinka”.

With much happiness

every kid in our

kindergarten celebrates on

this day.

Palm Sunday is a feast which

signals us that spring has

already come and everyone

named after flowers and

plants celebrates on that day.

Palm Sunday (Tzvetnitza)is the most colourful

holiday in the whole year and it is a sequel to

Lazar’s day. Tzvetnitza is celebrated on

Sunday the week before Easter .

By tradition, on Thursday

before Easter, in the

kindergarten we paint eggs.

The first is always red - for

health.

Parents and teachers not just paint the eggs they also

decorate them with different materials. We make an exhibition

of the result of this creative proses .

Our Easter exhibition this year!

The cooks in the kindergarten bake Easter bread for the

holiday.

On Easter we “crack” our eggs for health. The egg that

cracks the rest of the eggs is the strongest one.

Thank you for your attention!
