Stand First ResearchConventions

• I found that they used the phrase ‘forget about...’ which reflects an informal tone. The tone is also very friendly and energetic. This allows for the audience to engage with the article and want to read on.

• The stand firsts always include the name of the artist which is featured within the interview.

• The stand first doesn’t give too much away but it states the main topic of focus.

• Sometimes rhetorical questions are used. • The length of the stand first is usually about 1 or 2 lines ; it is very brief• Some younger audience pop magazines use play on words to engage

the audience into reading the article.

I will use these common conventions to write my own stand first for my interview on the double page spread.
