Digital Media users must recognize certain rights and responsibilities they have. A few are presented here.

Tips:
Don’t give out identifying information.
Disable cookies, or clear them from your browser.
Read website privacy policies.
There are many ways young people and adults can lose their privacy on the Internet, and all have their own dangers. Disclosing personal information can put you, family members, friends or classmates in danger.
Sometimes companies and organizations collect information about children for use in marketing, fundraising, and other activities. Be aware.

Tips:
Communicate digitally when appropriate. Sometimes it’s better to speak to somebody personally.
Don’t post pictures of your friends online without their permission.
Don’t talk about others negatively online.
Respect other people’s ideas and privacy.
Courtesy, or polite behavior, is obviously important in everyday life. It is also important in digital life, however.

Intellectual property rights are exclusive rights over creations of the mind. Copyright is the legal ownership of a work, including but not limited to text, audio, video, images, etc.
Acceptable UseAcceptable Use
Tips:
Read the acceptable use policies for sites or networks you use.
Know the policy for your school.
Ask questions about anything you don’t understand in an acceptable use policy.
An acceptable use is a set of rules applied by network and website owners which restrict the ways in which the network or site may be used.
