2. Internal derangements of the knee (IDK)
It is a term used to cover a group of disorders involving
disruption of the normal functioning of the ligaments or cartilages
(menisci) of the knee joint.
3. ANATOMY OF KNEE JOINT
Bones & Articulations Largest joint in the body Synovial hinge
type of a joint
Mainly articulation of four bones ;femur, tibia, patella,
fibula
Each articulation covered with hyaline cartilage;
The primary articulation between Condyles of femur &
tibia
4. LIGAMENTS
Dense structures of connective tissue that fasten bone to bone
&stabilise the knee.
Inside the knee are two major ligaments-anterior & posterior
cruciate ligaments

6. The patellar tendon connects lower part of patella with upper part of tibia. Part of this tendon is used in Reconstructing a torn ACL
