Приметы и суеверия Великобритании и России.
Проектно – исследовательская работа.

Актуальность данной темы заключается в том, что
суеверия настолько
вошли в нашу жизнь, что стали неотъемлемой частью
нашей натуры.
Целью работы является исследование примет и суеверий,
их места в российском и британском обществе.
Объект исследования – приметы и суеверия.
Предмет исследования – сходства и различия примет и
суеверий в России и Великобритании.
Задачи:
1) провести анализ литературы по вопросу
истории возникновения примет и суеверий, а
так же причин веры людей в приметы и
суеверия;
2) выделить наиболее распространенные
приметы и суеверия России и
Великобритании, выпустить информационные
брошюры;
3) определить сходства и различия между
приметами и суевериями в России и
Великобритании;
4) провести социологический опрос по данной
проблеме, обработать статистические данные,
сделать выводы.
Russian superstitionsBefore leaving for a long journey travelers, and all
those who are seeing them off, must sit for a moment in silence before leaving the house. It is often conveniently written off as a time to sit and think of anything one may have forgotten.
Knocking on wood is practiced in Russia as in other countries. However Russians tend to add a symbolic three spits over one's left shoulder (or simply with the head turned to the left), and Russians will often knock three times as well.
Breaking a mirror is considered bad luck in Russia, as is looking at one's reflection in a broken mirror, but the effect is also more severe than 7 years of bad luck.
Russian superstitions
On examination day, it is bad luck to make
your bed, wear anything new, or cut your
fingernails.
If one person accidentally steps on another
person's foot, it is common for the person who
was stepped on to lightly step on the foot of the
person who stepped first. It is said that they thus
avoid a future conflict.
Birthday parties should be celebrated on or
after one's birthday, not before.

you is considered a bad omen.Two or more people should never use one towel
at the same time to dry their hands or bodies, or it is said to bring conflict.

no one will throw salt over their left shoulder.If it's raining when you leave a place, it means

On the first day of the month it’s
lucky to say «white rabbits».
Catch falling leaves in autumn and
you will have good luck.
Black cat on the porch - wealth in the
house.
If you see two magpies you will be
happy.
If you had come with someone else's
dog - it's a good sign.
British superstitions

Rabbits, unlike cats, are definitely lucky. Think
of the Easter bunny, who brings chocolate eggs
to children on Easter Sundaу.
Keeping a ‘lucky rabbit’s foot’ (usually not
made of real rabbit nowadays!) is also
considered lucky.

Never break a mirror-that means 7 years
bad luck.
Don’t go past somebody on the stairs.

Hallowe’en 31 October is Hallowe’en. This festival
celebrates the return of the souls of the
dead who come back to visit places where
they lived. In the evening there are lost of
Hallowe’en parties. People dress up as
witches, ghosts, devils, cats or bats.
Houses are decorated with pumpkins with
candles inside them. Some children follow
the American custom Trick or Treat.
Hallowe’en They knock at your house and ask, «Trick or
treat?» If you give some money or some sweets
(a treat), they go away. If not, they can play a
trick on you, like splashing water in face.
No Hallowe’en party is complete without a
scary story. Usually people crowd together
around a fire on Halowe’en night. And one
person tells a scary story in a low voice.

In Russia spiders were associated with anything other
than with evil spirits and disease. In Britain there is a
superstition: "If you see a small spider, you will get a lot
of money“
In Russia carrion crows were associated with something
bad (the Raven croaks to the dead), in England they are
considered birds that bring good luck.
Superstition in Britain that if you left hand itches, it is to
the loss of money. If you scratch your left hand you will
give money away. In Russia, it is believed that when the
left hand itches, it is, on the contrary, promises great
wealth.
