Explanation Why does she want the blonde hair?
• This allows the audience to question why is she targeting blondes and not brunettes
• Makes the character seem sadistic, mysterious and jealous
Why she following the girl?
• This creates a brainteaser for the audience as they search their minds to figure this out.
• Which is a basic convention of a slasher horror
Why she obsessed with her?
• This creates a puzzle for the audience because they would want to see more as for why she is obsessed with her.
• Makes the character seem crazy and creepy.
Real Life ExampleFilm What’s the enigma? Is it inspirational to us?Man On Fire Who sets up the kidnapping? It makes us develop our idea- with revenge

Why is there a razor in his hand?
We want our main character to look psychotic and vulnerable
Captivity Why is she abducted and tortured? The main character has a sadistic mind with could help enhance our slasher subgenre
Texas Chainsaw Massacre Why did the hitchhiker shoot herself? It encourages the audience to want to watch more as this enigma appeared in the beginning
Carrie Why is she washing blood off her body and clothes?
We wanted to show our main character washing off blood to create enigma and suspense
Also, to make the audience question who and why she killed someone.
Enigma & Genre
Our enigmas are suitable for our audience, because:• It fits our horror slasher/horror genre- audience expectation of mystery , gore and suspense• It allows the audience to think of resolutions to enigmas such as: why is she obsessed with
her?• The blood on the knives with chunks of flesh with strands of hair allows the audience think
and try to solve the puzzle.
