Brief history about Fulani:

Fulani or Fulbe are found throughout the Sahel of West Africa, on the southern edge of the desert, from Mauritania in the West to Sudan in the East. There are about twenty million of them spread through about 16 countries. Fulani remain separate by their culture, their ways of life and their believes. They are assigned by names such as Haalpulaar'en, Fula, Fulbe, Peul, Fulani, Falata. Their language Fulfulde belongs to the Neger Congo language family, in the West Atlantic branch. There are several names applied to the language, just as we had for Fula people. Their language called Pulaar or Pular, in Western dialects and Fulfulde in the Central and Eastern dialects. Fula(h) and Fulani in English and Puel in French.

Concerning the noun classes there are about 25 noun classes (the number may vary slightly in the different dialects). Each noun class has a singular and plural form, accusative/dative pronoun, demonstrative adjective and adjective agreement pattern. Some examples provided in

the table below :

Writing system used in this dictionary is the Orthographic writing system presented through the Roman script. In addition, it's combined by phonetic transcription for each word by using the IPA symbols .
