The animation is ‘The Present’. You can Youtube this or go straight to the link.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_nJJHaNmnY
You need to:
• Watch this video
• Brainstorm ideas about the boy and the dog, here are questions to think about:
- why do you think the mother gave the boy the present (what did she want to happen from this), how does the boy feel about his present, why
do you think he feels like this, what makes him change his mind about the present? How do you think the dog feels about the boys reaction to
him.

Watch the video of Mrs Marden reading the Shortlisted text – No! Never!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/18-rpgX7PbckLOj-gyCfPLmNB92bxcPV4/view?usp=sharing
Uh Oh! Georgie has learnt the phrase No! Never! Which she uses whenever she doesn’t want to do something and is making it very hard for her family.
Your task is to:
Fold a piece of paper into four to make a little booklet. The link below will give you an idea about making your booklet. You do not need to staple it if you aren’t able to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiVqbQm6d20
Georgie loves saying NO! but sometimes it’s fun to say YES! Plan a YES day that you could complete with your family. Illustrate in your booklet activities you would do if
your parents were only allowed to say yes! Also write about each YES thing you could do. (Don’t forget the tiny details like the pain on your parent’s faces of having to say
YES to your requests!!)
Or
Sometimes we can all be very stubborn like Georgie. Interview an adult that knows you well like a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, big sister, brother or even a friend
about what you were like when you were younger. You may have to do this over the phone. In your booklet carefully illustrate in detail and write under each illustration the
things they told you about you

You can do this with someone at home, or by yourself!
How fast can you go? Can you make the beats go on for longer than a minute?
Can you go fast so it sounds like a rap? Try rapping the alphabet at the same time! Maybe
someone can rap it for you! Or as background music to your favourite song! Don’t forget
to film yourselves!!
