According to J.D.Power and Associates,although the Internetprovides real estateconsumers with theability to perform someessential tasks – suchas listing a home forsale or researching aneighborhood in whichto purchase a home – itstill does not replacethe importance of agood sales profes-sional. The knowledgeand expertise providedby experienced salesprofessionals are impor-tant benefits of using afull-service real estatecompany.
Satisfaction averages768 among those cus-tomers whose homessold within five monthsor less, but declinesconsiderably to an aver-age of 702 among cus-tomers whose homestook seven months orlonger to sell, the studyshowed.
Nearly one-half of re-spondents in the study(46%) reported usingrecommendations fromfamily or friends to findtheir real estate salesprofessional. Approxi-mately 32 percent useda sales professionalthey had used previ-ously, 22 percent usedthe internet and 12 per-cent used a listingagent for property.
The study reports thathome buyers wereshown an average of 17homes before theymade a purchase.Home sellers reportedthat, on average, theirhome was shown 12times, and about twoopen houses were con-ducted before a sale oc-curred.
