At Celebrate Recovery, we desire to apply Christ-centered
coping skills in dealing with a variety of hurts, hang-ups, and habits, restoring joy in
your life and to that of your loved ones. If you struggle with emotional baggage, co-
dependency, grief, loss of job, depression, lust, anger, pornography, addictions of any
kind, abuse, or other hang-ups, the Celebrate Recovery family can help.
Wednesdays, at 6 p.m., join others like you for a meet-and-greet session and dinner; at
6:45 p.m. for large group worship, awards, and a testimony or lesson; and at 7:45 p.m.
for confidential small group discussions where accountability partners can be found. In-
depth step studies are scheduled at various times throughout the year.

Project Foster Angel
The Project Foster Angel Christmas party for children in foster care and their families was held on Saturday, December 12, 2015.There were over 130 people attending and about 80 of them were children and teenagers in foster care. They participated in nu-merous crafts, face painting, and enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner. In addition, they visited Santa Claus, sang carols and the teenagers participated in an obstacle course and minute to win it games. We had over 30 volunteers who served in many capacities- set up, clean up, serving the meal, crafts, face painting, cooking, youth games, and gen-eral hospitality. Special thanks to the following persons for leading specific activities: Charlotte Fraser for buying all the food and heading our kitchen crew. Vicki Thompson for crafts, June Ward for face painting, Devon, Justin, Leanne, Jenn and members of the youth group for the teen activities. Thanks so much to ALL of our volunteers and again to the entire congregation for your support to this ministry. Each child and family was so appreciative, the children signed a giant card to the congregation and the foster care agency gave the congrega-tion flowers. We are so grateful for all that you continue to do to make this party such a success each year.

Whatcoat Women for Christ held their monthly meeting meeting on Monday, January 11th. Our guest speaker was Bonnie Rimmer Glenn who spoke on healthy nutrition. It was very interesting and she had lots of handouts.
We held our business meeting next at which time we discussed the Valentine Bags for Shut-ins. We will be filling them on Saturday, February 13th at 10:00a.m. Please bring in healthy snacks, i.e. sugar-free candy, fruit cups, etc. We also discussed the upcoming spaghetti dinner that will be on March 19th. The women of the church usually provide most of the desserts for this Methodist Men’s sponsored dinner. There will be sign-up sheets in the Narthex for anyone who would like to donate a dessert for the dinner to sign up on.
Soon the women of the church will be receiving a survey to be filled out .

In December 2015 we had an "Old-Fashioned Cookie Swap” with wonderful yummies. Those who participated in the “Most Outrageous Holiday Outfit” enjoyed themselves. It was voted and Henry was the winner!

Children’s Choir Sings Songs
in Camden

commented how their hearts were
filled with joy to bring a smile to oth-
ers and one child described feeling
the presence of God inside him while
he was singing. We were blessed to
share the love of Jesus with others in
our local community.
Whatcoat Christian Preschool News It is our hope that everyone had a joyful Christmas. The preschool students celebrated Jesus’ Birthday at the annual Christmas Program. It was accompanied by lots of colds and coughs and a falling tree! But it did not stop our students from singing, shaking bells and enjoying candy canes during finger plays! We experienced many days in December that were warm and no coat required, and others that required bundling up to our noses!
Each year the preschool students are busy making gifts for their parents. They paint their hands and feet and make angels, snowmen, and Christmas ornaments. Then, Santa Claus comes to visit the students, reads them a story and gives them a book to keep the gift of reading going.
The preschool students are provided with new experiences everyday through our program. Keep in mind any friends or family that are looking for a preschool for their child. We open enroll-ment for 2016-17 school year on February 1st, 2016. God Bless, Ms. Lee Anne

The Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10th
We invite you to gather in our sanctuary at 7 p.m. that evening to begin a 40-day spiritual journey – a fast (Sundays count as feast days) with Jesus to Jerusalem, the cross and resurrection on Easter Sunday. Lent is an old Eng-lish word that means spring, and has been used by Christians for centuries as a time of spiritual renewal. We begin our Lenten Season with a service of imposition of ashes, during which each of us will receive the sign of the cross drawn in the ashes of palm branches, as a sign of our recognition that Christ is all!
Holy Thursday Service Thursday, March 24th @ 7:00p.m.
Good Friday, March 25th,Noon until 3:00p.m. The Sanctuary will be open from for a quiet time of reflection and prayer.
