150th
Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi
DPS Firozabad celebrated 150th birthday of the father of the nation: Mahatama Gandhi. We had also
organized a historical event GGSY (Global Gandhi Solar Yatra) which aims to provide a pollution free
environment for all. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamps. Thereafter the solar lamps were
fabricated indicating the stride towards an eco-friendly behavior. This was followed by the Gandhi bhajans and
a Nukkad Natak. After this a group of students along with some teachers went on a pad yatra spreading the
message of cleanliness and self dependence. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from the
principal.

Mobile Library

Objective- To inculcate reading habit among tiny tots.
Today Delhi Public School Firozabad Mobile Library Team reached Primary School Daulatpur, Firozabad.
About 85 kids were present in the school. Today we gave the Hindi story books to the students just to read and
give their reviews about the books. There were more than 120 books we carried with us like-„Birju Ki Musibat‟,
„Barsat Kab Hogi‟, „Mutthu ke Sapne‟, „Panchtantra‟, „Hariyali aur Pani‟ etc. . Apart from the books reading
we also took their reviews about the books they read. The Librarian encouraged the students towards reading
and told them about the benefits of reading and how can reading improve our vocabulary. All the kids were
happy to see the team again & they eagerly wish that DPS team visit them again. The main motto of this event
was to inculcate reading habits, ethics and values in students. Over all it was a successful endeavor.
Inter House Swimming Competition 2
nd Inter House Swimming Competition was conducted on Oct 01, 2019. Total 32 students participated in
different events. Students represented their house with full zeal and sportsmanship spirit. Ms. Anju (Swimming
Coach) conducted event with the help of other teachers.

Little scholars of Class UKG conducted their Special Assembly on Air and Water Pollution - Reasons & Cure.
The main purpose of this assembly was to acquaint them with Air and Water Pollution. Assembly started in a
disciplined manner. Students held the meaningful and attractive cut outs in their hands and wore nature crowns
to show their devotion and respect towards mother earth. Little ones explained the meaning of- environment,
pollution and “3R‟s” (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle). Through a skit they explained how air and water pollution is
affecting us.
It was truly amazing to watch kids enact the real world problem. Kids also recite a rhyme on theme "3R's".
The assembly was a blend of information and entertainment. It sought to create awareness among young
children on a crucial topic like pollution, in an endearing way.
At the end of the assembly, Principal Sir appreciated their efforts with his motivational words.
Special assembly on A.P.J. Abdul kalam

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam The students of class IX-B organized a morning assembly on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratan Dr. A.P.J.
Abdul Kalam today on October 15, 2019. The assembly was organized with the purpose of making the young
minds aware of the great scientist, author, missile man and 11th President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
Assembly started with an inspirational thought followed by a speech based on the life and achievements of Dr.
Kalam. A quiz was also conducted based on his life.
Organizing such assemblies provide students a platform to speak and develop their oratory skills.
Uses and ways to save water
The assemblies offer a visual and fun way of gathering information that is easily understood and retained in the
minds of an onlooker.
Today the tiny tots of class LKG presented a special assembly on the topic “Water- Uses and ways to save
water”. The main aim of the assembly was to give our kids a basic knowledge of the importance of water in our
day to day life and the different ways by which we can save water. Another purpose of the assembly was to
make our kids more confident on stage.
The assembly started with a prayer. Students came up on the stage one by one and spoke confidently about the
topic. They also performed a beautiful dance on the rhyme “Listen to the water”
At the end all the students took a pledge to save water in day to day life and then they moved to their respective
classes in a disciplined manner.
Inter DPS Basketball Tournament
Sports, as we know, is an integral part of comprehensive development, and in recent years, sports has taken up
an irrefutable place in the school curriculum, as it serves to enhance the development of essential life skills in
the students, such as confidence, team work, integrity and sportsman spirit. The DPS Basketball Tournament
Girls (Under 14) Zone III organized under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, sought to provide a
befitting platform to build these life skills in the young budding frontrunners of future national and international
sports events. The day dawned bright and clear as the participants of the DPS Basketball Tournament Girls
(Under 14) Zone 3, waited in eager anticipation for three days of sweat and toil, trials and tribulations, heights
of tension, depths of despair, cheers, tears and excitement unlimited. The teams were from DPS Agra, DPS
Daulatpur, DPS Dehradun, DPS Firozabad, DPS Gwalior, DPS Meerut, DPS Prayagraj, DPS Saharanpur and
DPS Ranipur. The venue was Delhi Public School Ranipur, Haridwar, also the host school for the event.
The team DPS FIROZABAD performed beyond our expectations with full effort & enthusiasm. We want to
congratulate to all team members name-

Tour - 2019 3
rd Annual tour/ Excursion tour conducted from Oct 04 – 09, 2019 total 35 students participated in this
excursion. Students visited Nanital, Jim Corbett national park and Bhimtal. They also participated in many
adventure activities eg: Rope climbing, Wall climbing, Bhalna bridge, Rappling Tiger jumping….. . It was a
great experience and learning for all students. They learned & enjoyed in the lap of nature.

Morning assembly makes the students feel fresh, energetic with positive vibrations. It boosts the hidden talents
of the children.‟
The well planned assembly was conducted on the topic which was “Occupation.” It began with the Morning
Prayer followed by thought for the day shared by Saatvik Gupta, and the Compering was done by Aditya
Agrawal. The news rendering was done by Archit kumar and after that a song sung by a students of grade 1
reflecting the importance of the people who help us..After that a dance was presented by the students of Class
1st . At last students took pledge together to be thoughtful and cheerful towards the people who help us in our
community. Principal sir encouraged the students of 1 A by appreciating their performance and congratulated
them. At last assembly was concluded by National Anthem.
Incredible India & Celebration of Diwali

materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!” -Mark Twain One of the most anxiously awaited occasions for the students are fairs and celebrations, where they learn and
enjoy with lots of fun .For the same the Pre Primary and Primary wing (Nursery - Std. Vth) of Delhi Public
School Firozabad got an opportunity to organize an Exhibition- “Incredible India” on Friday, 25th October
2019, in the school premises, so the students can take a personal independent tour of India and enhance their
learning.
The aim of the event was to make students aware about the cultural richness of India .So they will be feel proud
to be an Indian.
Through this event students and teachers tried to spread awareness about the rich cultural heritage by
highlighting the history, physical features, art and architecture, music and dance, cuisines, fairs and festivals
from different states of our country India .
The exhibition showcased 5 states – Goa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Utter Pradesh . The varied
traditions, cultures, festivals and cuisine of the different states had been shown beautifully by the teachers and
students.
Colorful charts , beautiful and intricate models were put on display. Students dressed up in state costumes and
showed their in-depth knowledge when they educated the visitors confidently about the important features of the
state they represented.
The exhibition was open to the parents also who were quite impressed and happy to see the creativity and hard
work of their kids and teachers.
