Learning Objectives
• To Impart with a comprehensive basic knowledge of structural analysis and design of buildings and industrial structures.
• To understand the behavior of structural systems and elements through lecture material, complemented by real time problems.
• To provide insight knowledge of structures carry loads, Analysis methods, Computer Modelling of structures and design process.
• To Inculcate real experience through a series of design problems and case studies.
• To provide expose to structural design of steel and concrete as per codes and standards ( Indian and International standards).
Real time Engineering drawing Reading & Interpretations: Symbols, Architectural / Mechanical / Structural / fabrication / shop drawings.
Load Calculations: Dead load / Live load / Wind load / Seismic load / Earth pressure / Fluid pressure / surge loads, Crane loads.
Mechanics: Necessary Concepts & application of Engineering Mechanics / Strength of materials / Soil Mechanics / Fluid Mechanics.
Analysis methods: Assumptions in Analysis, Elastic analysis, Plastic analysis.
Concrete Structural Elements design: Design Philosophies of Columns, beams, Slab & Footings.
Steel Structural Elements design: Design Philosophies of Compression / Tension /Bending members.
Module 1: Engineering basics and Mechanics Duration: 35 Hrs Credits: 35 Fee : ₹ 25000
Duration: 6 Months Class Room : 3 months (105hrs) Real time practice Onsite ( internship): 3 months (90hrs)

Module 2: Analysis Tools Duration: 15 Hrs Credits: 15 Fee : ₹ 10000
Wind Load Calculations as per IS 875, EC1,ASCE 7, NBCC, AS 1170
Seismic Load Calculations as per IS1893, EC8,ASCE7
Concrete Design : Column, beam, slab, walls, footings as per IS456, EC2, ACI, CSA A23.3, AS3600
Steel Design : Column, beam , Gratings, Baseplate : IS800, EC3, AISC, CSA-S16, AS4100
Module 3: Codes & Standards Duration: 25 Hrs Credits: 25 Fee : ₹ 15000
Steel Connection design : Shear & Moment Connections ( Column – beam , Beam-Beam, Column splices, Beam splices).
Steel Girder design : Gantry & Plate Girder beam design
Pile foundation design : Vertical Load Capacity – Lateral load capacity – Group Efficiency – Stiffness ( Spring Constants) calculation.
Structural Strength Assessment & Rehabilitation : Overview of NDT Methods – Process and Check lists of assessment.
Design philosophy of Dynamic analysis : Free Vibration ( Natural Frequency & Mode shapes) & Forced Vibration ( Response & Amplitudes)
Module 4: Special topics Duration: 15 Hrs Credits: 15 Fee : ₹ 15000
Concrete Detailing :
Detailing of Footings – Column – beam – Slab – walls – Staircase - Water tanks - Pilecap etc., Ductile detailing
Steel Detailing :
Detailing of Column – beam – Staircase - connections ( Column – beam , Beam-Beam, Column splices, Beam splices) , Cap plate,
Base plate, Anchor bolts etc.,
Module 5: Structural Detailing Duration: 15 Hrs Credits: 15 Fee : ₹ 10000
NOTE: 1. Participants can Register for any one of the module and corresponding duration & Fee are applicable, as mentioned.
2. Participants can Register for all modules and the total duration is 105 Hrs & fees INR: ₹ 60000.
3. Individual modules(2 to 5) can be opted however the module 1 is essential & mandatory.
