Charting Fraud at the CDC

Whistleblower William Thompson revealed that he and other CDC scientists manipulated data in a vaccine safetystudy. They knowingly omitted data suggesting that African American males who received the MMR before 36 monthswere at increased risk for autism. They intentionally altered results by choosing to introduce the criterion of a Georgiabirth certificate.

CDC responded that “complete information” was not available for children without valid Georgia birth certificates. Intruth, all information was made available for each child through school record and birth chart record.

Race was the only variable to beassessed across the entiresample according to CDC’soriginal study protocol. However,it was not studied, buteliminated.

Important characteristics needed forstudy. Birth chart records areavailable for all children, but wereonly accessed for those with validState of Georgia birth certificates.

This info is available in the other records. Therefore GA birth certificate was notnecessary. Nevertheless, it was requiredfor child’s inclusion in study.

4 pieces of info to be taken fromchild’s school record according toCDC’s original study protocol.Available for all children.

CDC statement erroneously callsbirth chart record a “birthcertificate.”

GA birth certificate requirement reducedsample size by 41%, eliminatingstatistical significance of MMR-autismassociation in African American maleswho received shot prior to 36 months.

CDC deviated from their study protocol and did not present data by race for the whole study sample as it wasdesigned to do. They only introduced birth certificate criterion after the data was collected and results were obtainedshowing a connection between MMR timing and autism in African American boys.

CDC continues to mislead the public by misrepresenting the reason behind the inclusion of birth certificate criterion.
