Fourth, the vitreal opacity was more severe after intravitrealinjection. Fifth, the right eye improved with steroid treat-ment. Sixth, problems of a similar nature did not occur inother patients who were operated on the same day. Andseventh, IgE and IgG levels in the vitreous fluid were ele-vated: IgE was 10 IU/mL (not detectable in normal vitre-ous) and IgG was 410 mg/dL (normal 3.35 ± 0.3 mg/dL).5

We recommend that the possibility of TASS be con-sidered in cases of inflammation after cataract surgery; insevere cases, it is important to delay operating on thesecond eye.
