Welcome… to the US Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) 2010 Commercial Sponsorship Calendar of Events!!!

As we enter 2010, the IMCOM-K FMWR Commercial Sponsorship Program celebrates it twenty first year of serving our loyal sponsors and the USFK military community throughout the Korean Peninsula.

We ask that you review this calendar, select the events you wish to sponsor, and forward your proposed 2010 sponsorship schedule to the IMCOM-Korea FMWR Division, Marketing Branch. For each event you propose to sponsor, the submission should include your cash sponsorship commitment, the estimated retail value of promotional items you wish to provide, and any special requirements you may have. Please note that we will use all promotional items included in your proposal at the event. Do not include any promotional items you wish to give away during the event in this proposal.

The first few pages feature FMWR and sponsorship information, multiple and special year-long events and then monthly geographic listings. Included is a description of the event, date and location, estimated attendance and the requested amount of sponsorship funding that we are seeking. Please keep in mind that our listed amounts are guidelines only – please feel free to submit a proposed amount that suits your organization.

Please forward your proposed 2010 sponsorship selections to our office 90 days prior to the established event date.

We will evaluate all sponsorship proposals received by established event date, select the winning proposals for each event and prepare a sponsorship agreement for approval. This evaluation period will allow us to complete our required paperwork and provide you with approvals for events occurring in early 2010.

WHY DO SPONSORS INVEST?

Studies have shown that passive media, like advertising, no longer make us sit up and notice…it takes more. Corporate sponsorship finally gives companies an effective way to stand out from the pack.

Companies now supplying goods and services, as well as those who wish to expand their market to the United States Army consumer, can increase their visibility; build sales, and brand loyalty through sponsorship of FMWR events.

There are many different ways that a company can sponsor, or become a partner, in FMWR events and programs. Providing a direct monetary contribution underwriting event-related costs such as entertainment, transportation, trophies, and event programs, athletic uniforms/equipment, fixed assets, etc is one way.

Companies may also directly provide products or services, i.e. food and beverages for resale by activities or for banquets/recognition ceremonies, travel tickets, sports supplies/shirts, etc.; prizes/other items that would encourage event participation.

ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS

TO THE SPONSORS By partnering with U.S. Army FMWR, sponsors will gain access to a vast market of well- educated, financially stable consumers. Other opportunities include:

♦ BRAND RECOGNITION -Brand recognition involves the product name and packaging design working together to create positive memorable image. A more memorable image helps increase recognition when buyers return to repurchase your product. They seek the familiar package that has become an icon in their mind – building loyalty. Successful companies invest a lot of time and energy into managing how they are seen by the world.

♦ HEIGHTENED VISIBILITY - FMWR events and venues offer a wide exposure to a broad range of consumers. This type of visibility builds the number of overall impressions, which has value. Sponsors logos are included in all event program, advertising and collateral materials. In many instances, the cost of purchasing print and electronic advertising would be much more costly.

Page 7: 2010 Calendar of Events

6

♦ COMMUNICATE A COMMITMENT TO THE MILITARY LIFESYLE - On-post events offers sponsors the opportunity to hone in on a niche market – the military market. Impacting this specific group results in increased market share of the narrow military segment. It also creates goodwill and builds brand loyalty.

♦ SHOWCASE PRODUCT ATTRIBUTES - Every sponsor is authorized a display space for the event. This allows companies to interact face-to-face with current and potential customers. Demonstrating your product in action or calling attention to your company/product is possible through couponing and sampling.

♦ DRIVE SALES - As a sponsor, you have many opportunities to increase sales both directly and indirectly. Every FMWR venue is open to executing promotions to sell more of your product!

♦ OTHER BENEFITS

Creating goodwill Exposure to Army leadership Positioning to the civilian market Positive publicity Positive word-of-mouth advertising Public address recognition

TO THE MILITARY ♦ Defray costs of events ♦ Enhances interest of the event ♦ Promotes military and service images ♦ Increases participation and promotes a feeling of community ♦ Provides the opportunity for the community to host events that might otherwise be cost

prohibitive.

WHO CAN THE SPONSOR REACH?

IMCOM-Korea, comprised of approximately 42,050 military personnel, civilian government employees, related contractors, retirees and their families. Military and civilian person and their families are organized into four US Army Garrisons.
