President’s Message
Dear Beta Chi Sisters, What a wonderful October meeting with color-ful fall decorations, a delicious meal, a great speaker and an informative business meeting! We're looking forward to our Chinese Auction on November 2nd. Have fun choosing your auction item to share and help us raise funds for World Fellowship and other projects. I know I can count on you to help the Steering Committee for the State Convention using the theme "To Dream, To Dare, To Do." Ideas are welcome; then help with projects for the con-vention will be greatly appreciated! I'll have more information for you at our November meeting. Call a sister or two and make their day! Con-tinue to be the helpful, wonderful sisters that I appreciate so much in more ways than you'll ever know! Thank YOU!
DKG Love,
Juanita Barber

In September, a get well card was sent to Sandy Bilovesky (knee surgery). Halloween Cards were sent to all the Reserve Members.
Linda Ross, 330-638-5831 The November meeting would be a good time to bring a guest! Most women enjoy a silent auction.
Joyce Faiver, 330-539-5837 The Music Committee will be meeting several times before our Christmas program with our Al-pha Omega Sisters. In October, we will be meet-ing at the home of Ann Fetrow. We will meet on Thursdays, October 12 and October 19 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Please be on time, and bring your mu-sic. You will need a copy of these songs: "A Lei of Friendship", "Blessing", "12 Days of Christmas", "Snow Day" and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas". Juanita Barber and Linda Falatic attended the ADS Executive Board Meeting in Columbus on October 14th. At our November meeting, Juanita will share information about the Steering Committee for the State Convention.
Can you guess who I am? Find out at this month's dinner meet-ing!
I taught for 30 years for Windham Exempted Village School. Being certified for grades 1-8, I held several different positions, finally set-tling into Junior High with math and science. I retired in 2002. For many years, I was on the Board of Directors for what was once Cop-perweld Credit Union, then the Greater War-ren Credit Union and now, the Associated Schools Credit Union. I was appointed the first ever female Chairman of the Board from 2004-2006! When I was younger, and had "young eyes", I loved doing needlework! Now, I enjoy my volunteer work for the Leavittsburg Historical Society. In July, I spent the entire week of the Trumbull County Fair in the Historical Church! Not only was it rewarding to share my hometown's history with the other 10 Historical Societies repre-sented there, but the public as well! We even had fun selling penny candy to the children! I am new to Beta Chi, and look forward to get-ting to know each of my Sisters!

We met at the Vienna Methodist Church on October 5th, surrounded by colorful fall table decorations. Special thanks to Carol Hart for the autumnal-themed coasters she sewed as favors. Guest Speaker, Darlene St. George, presented a powerful message regarding the need for more female representation in all levels of government. Katie Hank was our “Who Am I?” sister. Be sure to speak directly to Eileen Hazel when requesting a dinner cancellation. Call off deadline is October 22nd. Dues are due by October 15th. Gretchen Reid’s request for Reserve Membership was approved. Take a look at the new page added to our scrapbook each month. Joyce Faiver has a new email. Sue Datish asked for volunteers to read at local schools as part of United Way’s “Great By Eight” campaign. Call Juanita Barber before October 14th with decorating ideas for State Convention Theme “To Dream, To Dare, To Do.” Bring Chinese Auction items and a guest to our November 2nd meeting at Ciminero’s. Wendy Spoerr won the 50/50 raffle. Sue Smith reminded us to all VOTE!
