Global Y’s Trainee Programme 2012

Goals of Internship:

To promote international youth movement by raising youths’ awareness on global issues;

To encourage global consolidation;

To develop appropriate working attitude of students and enhance their employability in their future career;

To provide an opportunity for students to develop their leadership, communication skills, sense of 

responsibility and to explore their unique potentials;

To act as a platform on which to build friendship among different countries around the globe.

Duties Include:

Plan and provide activities in centres or camp sites for children and youths;

Organise creative or cultural programme for service targets;

Provide administrative work in centres and offices;

Supporting duties in centres and camp sites. 

Application Fee (including food and accommodation):

Europe/US – HK$8,500

Africa – HK$6,500

Asia – HK$5,500

Mainland – HK$4,500

APPLICATION NOTES 

PROCEDURE:

1. Completed application form with CV submitted to Room 2593 (Lifts 29-30), Student Affairs Office

by 3 February 2012 (Fri). No late submission or incomplete application will be considered.

2. Selection interviews will be held on 7 February 2012. Applicants please arrive 10 minutes before

the interview start.

3. The result will be announced through email by 10 February 2012.

OBLIGATION:

1. Attend all briefing sessions;

2. Always keep checking email about the progress of the application;

3. Observe all deadlines of relevant registration procedures and payment due dates;

4. Any false, withheld or misleading information on the application is grounded for immediate

cancellation of the application from the programme;

5. Fail to complete the internship contract will result on application fee owed, cancellation of visa (if 

any) and insurance coverage; applicant must depart the country at once;

6. Applicant only can work at the placed site or camp;

7. Applicant is responsible for all travelling and personal expenses during the internship;

8. Applicant should comply with the rules and regulations set by YMCAs, camp site, University &

College YMCA and HKUST;

9. Applicants should pay the application fee and $500 deposit to “Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong” 

by cheque by 13 February 2012. No refund for withdrawal;

10. Submit working photos and evaluation forms on or before 21 September 2012; otherwise deposit

will be forfeited.

REMARKS:

Applicant must be the member of University YMCA - HKUST.

You can apply the membership when you submit the application.
