Troy Filipcevic is Founder and CEO of Emergence, an underwriting agency 100%

focusing on providing insurance solutions for Cyber risks. Emergence is a market

leading provider of cyber solutions in the Australian market and has been credited

with changing the market through their approach. Emergence has a presence in

Australia and New Zealand and recently won the Underwriting Agency of the Year

award for 2019.  

Previously to starting Emergence, Troy held executive roles at Suncorp and was

Head of Strategy. He also held roles in Partnering & Operational Excellence that

was responsible for improving business performance and also the Technology

business focused on designing and implementing the technology strategy.

Prior to joining Suncorp, Troy worked as a management consultant for Deloitte and

has a background in Innovation and Corporate Strategy. During that time, he

managed the internal innovation program as well as consulting to businesses on

innovation, strategy and operations. 

Troy is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, holds a Bachelor of Business and an MBA

from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).

Kim has over thirty five years’ experience in the insurance industry including

claims, management, underwriting and broking over the last 27 years specialising in

the Aged and Community Care industries. Kim held senior broking positions at

AON and Jardine Lloyd Thompson, with the last eighteen years as a Director of

Zenith Insurance Services.

Kim has a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a NIBA Qualified

Practicing Insurance Broker and a Senior Associate of the Australian and New

Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.   He was recently awarded the Stephen

Ball Memorial Award by NIBA as the best Broker in Australia for 2018 and is also

the Insurance Business Australia 2019 Broker of the Year – Independent Brokers

with over 20 staff.

Kim is a current Committee Member of the NIBA State Committee, he is committed

to giving back to the community and in 2008 Kim co-founded the Red Sky Ride, a

charity bike ride to raise much need funds and awareness for Solaris Cancer Care.

He and the team at Zenith also hold a Melbourne Cup function for Nulsen Disability

Services each year where they invite residents with disabilities and their carers to

celebrate Melbourne Cup with staff, clients and industry members and Kim has also

participated in the last eight St Vinnies CEO Sleep Out to assist the homeless in

Western Australia.

Caroline's insurance career spans over three decades, commencing as a high

school graduate in 1989. She started her career working for various Insurers

(with a brief stint as a broker), ultimately specialising in Workers

Compensation. She managed the WA Workers' Compensation division at

Allianz for seven years, until taking on the role of in-house Insurance Manager

for a large Agribusiness (MIS) company. Her time in this role provided her with

a unique insight and understanding of this industry, and developed her affinity

with all things ‘agri’.

Caroline returned to Insurance Broking in 2009 and managed the WA

Insolvency Division at Willis Towers Watson. However, she had a strong desire

to again focus on the Agribusiness sector and since 2012 has worked in her

current role as Principal, Corporate and Agribusiness for PSC Insurance

Brokers. At PSC she manages a portfolio of clients heavily weighted to this

industry, as well as managing the operations for the PSC team.

With her varied industry experience, Caroline has an exceptionally well

rounded view of factors that can impact and influence desirable outcomes for

clients. Caroline is a Fellow of the Australian Insurance Institute, and has

recently completed the Foundations of Directorship course through the

Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Anthony has 35 years’ experience in the general insurance industry having held

a variety of roles, commencing his career with RAC WA in 1984, before moving

to AMP General Insurance in 1987 to take up a position underwriting and

developing both commercial and corporate portfolios.

Anthony was appointed State Manager WA for Cigna/ACE Insurance in 1996,

holding a senior leadership role within the organisation, presenting strategy to

the board and for a period assisting with State Management responsibilities in

Melbourne. In 2016 with  the ACE acquisition of Chubb, he became the Global

Distribution Manager WA, working with the International Brokers. 

In January 2018, Anthony joined Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance,

establishing and leading BHSI’s expansion into the West Australian insurance

market.

Justine is a principal with Gilchrist Connell and was one of the foundingmembers of the Perth office, helping grow it from a 6 person office to a busyand successful practice with over 20 staff.  Justine has worked in the insurance industry both in house at insurers andin private legal practice in Australia and London, specialising in professionalindemnity, directors’ and officers’ liability and management liability claims.Justine has a keen interest in insurance education and recently served onthe Board of the Australian Insurance Law Association and is currently theTreasurer of the WA State Chapter. Justine was named as a preeminent professional indemnity lawyer inDoyle’s Guide in 2017 and 2018.
