crisp packets can sound like footsteps

from which architects flinch, keeping clear

    the fire-exit dematerialising at touch

    we compulsorily purchase Debenhams

knock it right down; lay a warren

of new streets; maps become redundant

a heart as A-Z page torn, blown down

Back Piccadilly; new places are found to stand

chasing it we are thrown up abroad

no, this is imperative; beyond choosing now

    I dont recognise Manchester anymore

    buildings shift and recombine and

    spacecraft hover.
