Foreign persons interested in obtaining a Form I-20 from HCCC mustsubmit additional information as required by the US Student Exchangeand Visitor Program (SEVP). Visa processing times currently range from1-3 months; therefore, we have established the following deadlines:
DEADLINE FOR STUDENTS FILING FOR F-1 VISA STATUS:
FALL Students outside the U.S. First business day in JuneSEMESTER F-1 Transfer students only First business day in July
SPRING Students outside the U.S. First business day in OctoberSEMESTER F-1 Transfer students only First business day in November

If you do not supply all requested information by the deadline dates, we may not have sufficient time to process your Form I-20 for you to take to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate. Upon successful completion of all the admissions requirements, you willreceive a letter of acceptance, your Form I-20, and information aboutyour registering for classes.
Transfer students must provide an official transcript to have creditapplied towards their chosen program. Depending on the time available, an unofficial transcript may be accepted for preliminary purposes, namely to ensure a student has met prerequisite require-ments and to determine if they may be exempt from having to take the HCCC College Placement Test (CPT).
Students that are permitted to register using an unofficial transcriptmust have their official transcript evaluated prior to being permitted to register for the following semester. It is recommended that studentsattempt to obtain an official transcript in a sealed and unopened enve-lope, and present the official transcript at time of application to HCCC.
For more information please visit: www.hccc.edu/transfer
Visiting students from other institutions, seeking to enroll short-term, are permitted to enroll as Non-Matriculating students. In most instancesvisiting students should provide a “Permission Letter” from their homeinstitution stipulating the course offered at HCCC that they are allowingthe student to take. With such a document the need for a transcript isnot necessary.
The process above ensures that the home institution will accept thecredits from HCCC, thereby providing an element of academic securityto the student. Many home institutions may not accept the credit, as aresult of the students not seeking such permission, or a leave ofabsence if matriculated.
Visiting Students who are unable to obtain a “Permission Letter” should follow the procedures for Transfer Students.
