Stone Park Sentinel
The Holiday Season is here and hopefully everyone is ready to enjoy them with family and friends.
This is the season for giving and Stone Park is proud to announce - that through hard work and years
of traveling to Springfield, IL, working with members of the State Senate and the Governor’s Office, the
village is finally receiving our grant money to build our new village hall and our own community center.
In January we will display the drawings in the Clerk’s Office for everyone to view. Enclosed is a copy of proof of the grant
from Springfield. This will bring our community into the 21st Century. More information will be shared in the new year.
Santa Claus checked his list twice and brought us funding also for Soffel Ave. to be rehabbed from 33rd Avenue to 43rd
Avenue with new water mains, curbs, sidewalks, road surface, lighting and brick pavers on the corners. We will also be
resurfacing the 1600 block of 43rd Avenue from Division Street to Soffel Avenue. All of these projects will begin next year –
2013.
I would like to thank all the board members for their hard work to help me obtain the funds for these projects. I’m looking
forward to the projects starting next year. Stone Park will continue the progress and move forward.
As always we will keep you informed on other projects and programs we are working on for our community and resi-
dents.

La temporada de fiestas ya está aquí y esperando todos están listos para disfrutarla con
la familia y amigos. Esta es la temporada para dar y recibir y Stone Park se enorgullece en anunciar- que a
través de nuestro esfuerzo y años de viajes a Springfield, IL, trabajando con miembros del Senado del
Estado y la Oficina del Gobernador, la Municipalidad está finalmente recibiendo dinero estatal para cons-
truir nuestra nueva oficina Municipal y un nuevo centro comunitario. En enero la Oficina de la Secretaria-
tendrá los planes disponibles para mostrar. Se incluye una copia del comprobante del dinero Estatal recibi-
do de la Capital Springfield. Esto llevara a nuestra comunidad hacia el Siglo XXI. Más información estará
compartida en el nuevo año.
Santa Claus revisó su lista dos veces y también nos trajo financiamiento para que la Avenida Soffel sea
rehabilitada desde la Avenida 33 hasta la Avenida 43 con nueva tubería de agua, bordillos, aceras, super-
ficie vial, iluminación y adoquines en las esquinas. También estaremos repavimentando la cuadra del 1600
de la Avenida 43 desde la Calle Division hasta la Avenida Soffel. Todos estos proyectos darán inicio el
próximo año – 2013.
Me gustaría agradecer a todos los miembros del consejo directivo por su arduo trabajo en ayudarme a
obtener fondos para estos proyectos. Estaré esperando ansioso el inicio de los proyectos el próximo año.
Stone Park continuará el progreso y seguiremos hacia adelante.
Como siempre los mantendremos informados acerca de otros proyectos y programas en los que estamos
trabajando para nuestra comunidad y residentes.

Proviso Township recently unveiled a free discount prescription card that is now available for residents. The announcement comes after the State of Illinois made budget cuts to the Illinois Cares Rx program, leaving 160,000 people without prescription drug coverage statewide. Cards are available at the Township Office and online at www.coast2coastrx.com/provtwp/. One card covers an entire family and can be used throughout the United States, not just in Proviso Township.

Please remember that street parking restrictions are in effect year round. We need your help when the snow ar-
rives by asking you to move your vehicle during and after snow accumulations. This will give the Public Works De-
partment better access so we may clear our streets and alleys faster. No parking as designated on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays —street sweeping is year round. No dumping in sewers.

mos su ayuda cuando llegue la nieve solicitando que mueva su vehículo durante y después de las acumulaciones

Our Christmas Parade and Photos with Santa will be December 15, 2012. Photos with
Santa are from Noon to 3:00 p.m. and are free. The Photos with Santa will be at the firehouse on 35th Avenue.
The Christmas Parade will start at 5:30 p.m. beginning at the Public Works Building on 33rd Avenue. Please light
up Stone Park and show our Christmas Spirit. The parade will go up and down every street except the 1500 and
1800 block of 43rd, and the 1500 blocks of 40th and 39th Avenues.
Nuestro Desfile de Navidad y Fotos con Santa se llevará a cabo el 15 de diciembre del 2012. Las Fotos con Santa
son del mediodía a las 3:00 p.m. y son gratis. Las Fotos con Santa se llevarán a cabo en la estación de bomberos

Keep your sidewalks clean, school is in session and children will be traveling on your side walk, always keep snow
salt on hand, if you are unable to shovel your snow due to medical reasons contact the Public Works Department
after a brief interview they will be able to come up with a solution. A friendly reminder: the Police Department is here
