William Heikkinen thanks the people who have helped in his success

William Heikkinen, star football player and Ivy League student, has extended his thanks to those

who have helped him in his success. The player includes his coaches, teammates, teachers and

family in the list of people who have positively influenced him.

William Heikkinen, star football player and Ivy League student, has extended his thanks to those who

have helped him in his success. William has acknowledged that his success in American Football as

well as at school has been in large part due to the positive influence of the people around him,

includingsportsmentors, teachers, teammates and his family.

William Heikkinen, who currently plays as a wide receiver for the Brown Bears at Brown University,

had an exceptional high school football career resulting in an impressive 126 catches and 1,960

receiving yards – both school records – and 22 touchdowns. He was also a two-time Merrimack

Valley Conference All-Star for his team the Andover Golden Warriors.

“I am really grateful to all the people who have helped me throughout my football career so far,”

stated William Heikkinen, “I been lucky to experience some real success both on and off the field,

and it is in large part due to my coaches, teammates and mentors who have kept encouraging me to

work hard and strive to become better at what I do.”

Among the people who helped William Heikkinen in his success are his family, who supported

William in his sporting endeavors throughout his childhood and teenage years. Encouraged by his

parents, William started playing many different sports as a child including Little League baseball.

William began his football career in eighth grade, never thinking about how far it would take him.

William acknowledges that being part of an active and sporting family helped him progress and

achieve his high school football success.

William Heikkinen believes that he is also lucky to have had great coaches and teachers who have

supported his ambitions to play American Football and to succeed academically. He has noted that

his high school teachers were aware of the important balance between sports and studies that

William was trying to achieve and made sure he had all the support needed to do this.

William has also thanked his coaches, both EJ Perry at Andover High and Phil Estes at Brown

University, for their influence on helping him become the best American Football player he can. He

has said that their encouragement and dedication to helping him develop his skills at both the

Golden Warriors and Brown Bears has shaped him into the star player he is today. William Heikkinen

now hopes to follow in the footsteps of notable former Brown Bears players including Fritz Pollard,

Joe Paterno, James Develin and John Heisman.

About William Heikkinen: William Heikkinen is a star football player and Ivy League school student.

William is currently a freshman at Brown University and a wide receiver for Brown Bears football

team sporting number 88. A lover of all things sport, William has received many awards and

recognitions including being named Student Athlete of the Month by the Eagle Tribune and First

Team All-State by the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. William Heikkinen closed his high school

football career with 126 catches for 1960 yards for his team the Golden Warriors in Andover, and

was lettered in football for 3 years as well as in track and field. William has numerous other

achievements under his belt including making Honor Roll every term, volunteering at a local

Massachusetts elementary school and being Winner of the Chemistry and Survey of Film
