Introduction

In this work we will talk about the Cintra factory, a factory which had is origin in Brazil and in 2002 came to Portugal and is located in Santarém. Despite the success achieved in Brazil, in Portugal did not

succeed.In this work we go to study the history of this factory, the process of

bankrupt, its acquisition by Drink In and the current situation.We hope with this work not only know the whole story about the

factory but also makes us acquainted with the processes of bankruptcy and recovery of a factory.

The factory have 40.000 m2 and starts with 200 workers.

Was a big investment- 75 million euros

The factory is the most sophisticated of its type in Portugal and one of the most modern in all Europe

Two varieties of beer- Pilsen and Black

There was no country in Europe that only had two brands of beer

The factory is in a strategic area of the country distribution

The big failure was caused by failures in advertising and distribution

Sousa Cintra sold the factory to the businessman

Solutions for the factory

A partnership with the brand Sagres, allowing them to use the Cintra filling lines

The production of beer from other brands

The opening of the manager to make more partnership

What´s happening now?

The company is trough an action in law.

The old administrator is the cause of that action.

The lands was acquired for fifty cents the square meter

The prosecutor argues that´s strange and that may be illegal

Conclusion

With the study of the company CINTRA, we can conclude that good intentions are not sufficient to have success, we

can have everything to have a great business, but if we don´t invest in marketing, in promotion, in good Human-

resources and in another important questions, we will not survive. In our days the markets are very competitive.With this group work, we could know more something

about this company situated in our land that unfortunately didn’t have success.
