Westcon aims to meet complicated challenges, without making things complicated, and has a vision of being the most preferred yard in Norway. Investment in infrastructure, further training of the already competent and experienced personnel, and listening to customers are part of the measures necessary. Providing customers with the facilities and expertise they require is paramount, as is providing employees with a safe working environment whilst protecting the yard’s beautiful sheltered surroun­dings.

Activities at Westcon are divided into several different work areas:

Rig RepairOnshore and offshore engineering, maintenance and repair services have been performed for many different rigs and owners. SPS, engineering, upgrade & installation work on all rig systems including main motors, alternators, mud pumps, thrusters, anchor winches, mooring systems, drillers’ cabins, mud pits, riser tensioners, Xmas tree handling systems, the list is endless. Westcon can now offer customers laser measuring services, thereby being able to prefabricate and plan the job well in advance of the rig’s arrival.

Ship RepairAll types of vessel from tugs to coastal cruise ships have used the yard’s well equipped halls and two floating docks for classification work, conversions, diesel engine and valve overhaul, propulsion system services, thruster overhaul, electrical overhaul, turbo charging and sandblasting/surface treatment.

Ship BuildingWestcon has an established tradition delivering sophisticated and technically advanced vessels for the fishing, supply and seismic industries, including advanced gas driven vessels. A highly skilled team follows projects from start to finish, including project evaluation, design and building documentation, procurement, building and construction, outfitting and installation, commissioning and delivery.
