Welcome to Plymouth River School (PRS) PTO!

We hope this will serve as an all-encompassing guide book to PTO programs and events at PRS. As a parent or guardian of a child enrolled at Plymouth River School, you are automatically a member of the PTO. Your contributions will greatly enhance your child’s experience, benefit the entire school and help create an inclusive PRS community. We look forward to working with you to make the PRS school experience the best it can be for all our children. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. Here’s to a great year!

Dear Parents,

The efforts of the PTO to support our school through volunteerism and fundraising are noteworthy. Parent involvement benefits both children and parents. You will gain a better understanding of the curriculum and activities through your partnership with the PTO. Your interest in the school can also affect your child’s classroom behavior, self-esteem and motivation.

With that said, I am hopeful that you will be an active member of the PTO and take part in the many activities that they offer. Attendance at our monthly PTO meetings will provide you with a voice in the many decisions that this organization will make and help you to gain insight into the academic and social life at PRS.

I hope you will take time to review this Playbook. I look forward to seeing you at PRS.

Best Regards,

Chuck Cormier Principal

ALL SCHOOL MEETING (ASM) All school meetings are held every day 1 at 8:30am in the cafeteria and hosted by members of the 5th grade class and Principal Cormier and are often held on Spirit Days. Parents are always welcome. Meetings consist of student performances, information on up and coming events, and reminders of the school code – to always be polite, responsible and safe. ASM is a very special part of the PRS experience.

PRS 1000 BOOK CLUB The mission of the 1000 Book Club Program is to provide quality literature to preschoolers and kindergartners while fostering a connection between home and school. All Preschoolers and current Kindergartners residing in the Plymouth River School district are eligible to enroll in the program. Bags are picked up and returned at PRS every two weeks. The goal is to read 100 bags (1000 books), with rewards at milestones at ASM. http://1000books.weebly.com/

BOKS (BUILD OUR KIDS SUCCESS) BOKS is a before school physical activity program sponsored by Reebok and run by the Gym Teacher and parent volunteers. The idea behind the program is that physical activity will help ready students to begin their academic day.
