WEEKEND MASSES RESUME!
On the weekend of May 30th/31st we re-
sume the public celebration of the Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass.
As we continue to move forward in
faith, we ask everyone to keep each
other in prayer. It is important that we
remember all those who lives have
been impacted. Those who have suf-
fered with it, and those who lost their
lives. We must also remember those
whose lives have been impacted be-
cause of a loss of employment.

COMMUNION SERVICE OUTSIDE OF MASS
NOON EACH SUNDAY UP AUGUST 30TH
Parking for the Distribution of Holy Communion outside of Mass will fol-
low the normal weekend parking pattern. Individuals can park in the upper or
lower lot. Please refer to the diagram below to where the priest or deacon will
stand. It will be different depending on the weather.
Since many people will have watched Mass either from EWTN or one of
the other live-streamed services, the priest will come out...everyone will say the
“Our Father.” After the Our Father the priest or deacon will say “Behold the
Lamb of God…” Then each individual may come forward to receive commun-
ion. Once receiving Holy Communion the communicant can return to their vehi-
cle to say a prayer of thanksgiving.
SATURDAY EVENING 7 PM MASS OUTDOORS
The added 7 PM Mass has been slated to be held outdoors. Mass will be cele-
brated outside even it is cloudy or light rain. If, however it is calling for bad storms we
will celebrate the Mass inside. When Mass is celebrated indoors the max capacity of
the Church is 120 individuals.
Father Carroll will be recording the Mass live for people to access the sound
and video from their phones. As you can see above we are asking parishioners to
park their vehicles and skip a parking space in between. This will allow individuals if
they choose to get out and sit on the drivers side of the vehicle. Parishioners are also
free to remain in their vehicles. Those who parked in the upper lot are free to bring
their lawn chairs down and sit in the blacktop section a long the school. Please re-
member to keep a good safe social distance of 6 feet from the other groups of individ-
uals.
Like Masses indoors, Holy Communion will be distributed after Mass for those
who wish to come forward.

HOLY COMMUNION OUTSIDE OF MASS
When we return to Mass, in addition to perhaps not having our favorite pew another
BIG change will be the reception of Holy Communion. The distribution of Holy Commun-
ion will take place outside of Mass. This will allow for those who not feel comfortable to
receive Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament to leave after the final blessing. Only the priest or
deacon will distribute Holy Communion at the end of Mass. We will start our way at the
side aisle on Saint Joseph side and work our way to the side aisle on Mary’s side.
At each communion station there will be a hand sanitizer area for the communicant,
as there is one for the priest. Before receiving Holy Communion in the hand, the communi-
cant is requested to use hand sanitizer. Catholics may receive Holy Communion in a man-
ner they so choose.
RECEPTION OPTIONS:
1) Kneeling and on the tongue
2) Standing and on the tongue
3) Receive Holy Communion in the hand while standing: (Diocese Recommended)
If you do not feel comfortable receiving physically, one can make an
Act of Spiritual Communion.
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there
And unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
HELP US KEEP OUR CHURCH CLEAN
The Church will be cleaned after each Weekend
Mass. While our bathroom in the back of Church will
remain open for indoor Masses we kindly ask everyone
to use it ONLY for emergencies.
While the bathroom will be cleaned after every
Mass like the pews, it cannot be cleaned after every
use. We strongly encourage the use of hand sanitizer
after leaving the restroom.
AM—15
15 GALLON AIR ASSISTED MISTING
MACHINE
In the effort to keep the church
building cleaned and sanitized, we are
purchasing a new air assisted misting
machine that will help us sanitize our
church building in a matter of minutes.
This new machine is costing us
around $3,000 and will be used not just
in the church, but in Brenner Hall, the
cafeteria, and the school. It is a great in-
vestment cutting down the time needed to
sanitize the campus.
WE NEED YOU!
Thank you to all those individuals who have graciously volunteered to help clean
the Church after the weekend Masses. We truly appreciate your help. If you are inter-
ested in helping to clean the Church or help find people a seat please contact Father
Carroll. His email is [email protected].
FINDING CREATIVE WAYS TO SERVE YOU!
When we first closed our church buildings, the clergy went out of there way to hear
confessions outdoors. Then when we were told we could not do that, we switched to an
online presence. We found away to keep everyone connected with Jesus by placing a tab-
ernacle by the window in the sacristy.
While we cannot fill the Holy Water fonts, I purchased two automatic soap
dispensers, but instead of soap, they are filled with Holy Water. Our Holy Water
container still has Holy Water. Please bring your own bottles and fill them up. In this
period of social distancing, keep in mind our Lord is not distant from us. He will find a
way to remind us of His ever presence.
I invite you to form online bible studies and make use of our parish subscription to
FORMED. Stay creative and look for ways to grow closer to God!!
WORKING TOGETHER TO PREVENT
THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 AND ALL
OTHER ILLNESSSES We have shared with each of you measures we have taken as a parish to prevent the
spread of COVID-19. These regulations are meant to keep each of us healthy and safe. As
we have shared with you our plan to clean and sanitize the Church, it is important that we ask
and remind you to do your part.
Being a part of this family of faith means that we must look after each other. While I
have been preaching about the importance of faith during these challenging times, we must
also us precaution and practice good hygiene. That is why we are asking you to wear masks
and use hand sanitizer . I strongly encourage you when getting home after attending Mass to
switch out of your Sunday clothes and wash your arms, face, and hands. This isn’t just for
ourselves but for those around us.
FACEMASKS!
When attending Mass indoors parishion-
ers are required to wear facemasks. The ONLY
exception to the rule are children under the age
of two or anyone who has a medical condition
that would prevent them from wearing it.
For those who do have a medical condi-
tion but might be able to wear it for short peri-
ods of time, if you could wear them when walk-
ing by individuals (coming in and our of
Church) that would be appreciated, but if not
we understand. Thank you for your help! It is
greatly appreciated.
When attending Mass outdoors face-
masks are not required when sitting in the vehi-
cle or when one sits more than 6 feet away from
another.
While we will NOT be screening parishioners when you come to Mass on
Sunday, we ask you to read the following questionnaire carefully. These will
be questions one will be asked when coming into the office when it reopens to
the public. If you answer “yes” to questions 2 thru 4, STAY HOME! We
greatly appreciate your assistance as we work together to keep each other safe
and healthy.
While the Good Shepherd Adoration Chapel will remain closed for the time being, be-
ginning Monday June 8th there will be periods of adoration in the Church 3 days a
week. Those times are as follows…
Monday: After Mass—10:30 AM
Wednesday: 3:45—5:15 PM
Friday: 6:45—8:15 PM
It is our hope when York County moves into the “Green” Phase and after examining
and implementing health and safety guidelines we will be able to open the chapel.
To Our Religious Education Families,
The last time we met was back in March. It was certainly been an interesting
several months. Thank you for your patience during this time. We regret that we
weren’t able to meet and bring this year to a conclusion.
Please know we are already looking at next year. We do not know what that
will look like yet at this time. As the summer progresses we will be taking the lead
of our schools to see what direction we will need to head in for next year. There are
several factors that we will be looking at such as the needs of keeping the building
clean and sanitized and whether greater social distancing is required. It is quite
possible we may move into an online model where the families of our students
would assume the role of the primary teacher of their children in the faith. Classes
then would meet monthly with a catechist on different weeks. This is one option we
are looking at right now. Unfortunately, there is so many unknowns.
Speaking of unknowns right now we have not yet rescheduled Confirmation
and First Holy Communion. We are taking a wait and see approach for the first two
or three weeks in June. We apologize that we can not give you a more definite an-
swer at this time. Please know we are considering every option. As things pro-
gress we will communicate that information to you.
As we move forward in faith, please know we are keeping you all in prayer.
We hope you have a fun, healthy, and safe summer! See you hopefully in Septem-
ber.
Father Keith Carroll Mrs. Lyndia Starceski Mrs. Mary Jean Dietrich
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I invite you to pray for our catechumens, confirmation , and first com-
munion students who are awaiting the sacraments. Because of the pandemic
we postponed the sacraments until a later date. Right now we are phasing
back into public worship slowly and I will be waiting another two or three
weeks until making a decision on how and when to proceed.
Unfortunately, there are too many changing variables and I do not want
to be in a position to postpone again. We are looking at a variety of options
right now. Once a decision is made it will be communicated to you so that
you can keep those awaiting the sacraments in your prayers.
To our catechumens, confirmation and first communion students, thank
you so much for your patience! Please know you are in my prayers and that I
am looking forward to the day you can receive the respective sacraments!

PARISH OFFICE HOURSE EFFECTIVE
JULY 1ST, 2020
MONDAY: 9 AM—2 PM
TUESDAY: CLOSED
WEDNESDAY: 9 AM—5 PM
THURSDAY: 9 AM—2 PM
FRIDAY: 9 AM—2 PM
The office will OPEN on Tuesday
from 9 AM—1 PM on days when a fu-
neral is scheduled.
At this time it is our intention to reopen the office on July 1st 2020, however
it might be necessary depending on the regulations at the time to delay that. For
now Mrs. Theresa Fenstermacher our Parish Business Manager is in the office
Monday—Wednesday. If you need anything please call her at 717-848-2007 ext.
101. Although York County is in the “yellow” phase ,telework is still encouraged.
It is possible even when York County moves into the “green” phase that some of
those regulations may continue. Please be patient.
The office will be CLOSED on Tuesday as noted. This is being done in or-
der to allow us a day dedicated to the business side of the parish operations.
There will still be someone here to answer and monitor the phones. If necessary
when a funeral is scheduled we will open up the office to allow individuals to ob-
tain a Mass Card.
Father Carroll’s day off will begin Monday afternoon and continue into
Tuesday evening. While Father Carroll is trying to stick to his scheduled day off,
he will gladly adjust his schedule to accommodate funerals for families on Tues-
day if necessary.
