ACCORDING TO DOUG JOHNSON:
“Reduced to its simplest definition, a PLC is a group of professionals working collaboratively to discuss and practice effective professional strategies in order to increase student performance.”

Or “..Maybe we ought to call them BLBs – Blind Leading the Blinds.”
PLC FOR LMS
1. A school librarian PLC might facilitate the sharing of resources and strategies that could help increase student achievement throughout the district.
2. The LMS should be an active participant in any PLCs in their own building by making sure they know how to effectively use tools to enhance their efforts.
CHARACTERISTICS OF EFFECTIVE PLCS
1. Focus on Learning/Results
2. Shared Values and Vision
3. Supportive and Shared Leadership
