Attention Ringers and Singers
Rehearsals begin again on September 7. Handbells rehearse from 6:15 – 7:15 PM and Senior Choir
rehearses from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. New members are always welcome!
Zion Lutheran Music Fest 2017
Save the date, October 15, 2017 at 3:00 PM, for a concert at Zion Lutheran Church (39 Bonnie
Brae Road, Spring City) featuring the 1791 Tannenberg organ. Featured on the Tannenberg will be
Adrian Binkley and Clara Gerdes. Both have won First Place Awards in the Albert
Scweitzer International Organ Competition and are students at the Curtis Institute of Music. Clara
recently won First Place in the American Guild of Organists Quimby Competition for Young Organ-
ists and will be featured at the National AGO Convention next summer in Kansas City, MO. A senior
at Curtis, Clara is a third year organ scholar at St. Mark’s Locust Street in Philadelphia. As a second
year student at Curtis, Adrian is the newly appointed Michael Stairs Organ Scholar at Church of the
Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA. Music Fest is a free concert. A meet & greet reception will follow the

PRAYER LIST
Procedures to request that a name is added to the prayer list are as follows: - Request permission from the individual in need of prayer (as requested by our Synod) - Send an email to: [email protected] or Phone: Joanne Cantwell at 610-933-0341 or Jerene Gladfelter at 610-933-3542 - List the individual’s name and BRIEF description of situation (i.e. chemo, dementia, auto accident, comfort and peace, etc.) - Name of requester and association (brother, co-worker, friend, etc.) - Please advise us when a prayer request is no longer valid A new prayer list is issued at the beginning of each month as a bulletin insert. In addition, we have an email list of individuals desiring to be on the Prayer Chain to receive these requests. Please update us by the 25th of each month to ensure that your request is listed. If you have not signed up previously and wish to be on the Prayer Chain to receive immediate prayer requests other than those listed monthly, please contact Joanne (610-933-0341) or Jerene (610-933-3542) with your email address or telephone number. Blood Drive Save the date for our fall Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, September 18 from 2-7 PM. We are in need of two people who can help out in the canteen for about three hours that day. If you are available, please contact Chuck Cantwell (610-933-0341) or the church office.
Attention Men! Mark your calendars for our upcoming Men’s Breakfasts scheduled for
September 30 and November 18 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. All men are welcome to
meet at the church for lots of coffee and yummy food, with a topical discussion between
sips and bites.
Help Needed for Pancake Breakfast We will need people to help set up on Saturday, September 16 for the breakfast as well as people to help cook on Sunday, September 17. If you can help, please contact Jaime Frazier (609-781-0041 or [email protected]) or the church office.
Good News! Joe & Phyllis Kurylak and Katherine Smiley are pleased to announce the birth of their great grandson, Oliver Alexander Kurylak to Alex & Stephanie Kurylak on August 26, 2017 weighing 8 lb. 13 oz. Oliver is the grandson of Chris & Ruth Kurylak and has the same birth date as his uncle Matthew Kurylak, Sr. and great uncle Robb Kurylak.

mation. The correct information is as follows: 90 N. Savanna Dr., Pottstown PA 19465; Home
Phone 484-524-8795. Sincerest apologies to Diana for this error. Corrective labels have been
placed in the remaining directories in the lobby, but if you have already taken a directory and
would like a corrective label, they are available in the church office.
Benefit Concert Join Orion Communities in celebrating community with a concert, Music for Everyone at the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville on October 27 at 7:30 PM. The Mashups, a musical trio, specialize in genre-bending and break all the rules while taking the audience on an adventure through opera to jazz to musicals to Motown and back again. Care Team ministers to members of our congregation who are homebound. If you are in need of services from the Care Team or know of a member who may need assistance, please contact Care Team leader Deanna Kalmbach (610-933-6204).
Holy Land Trip Former Interim Pastor Dave Mueller, along with Rabbi Peter
Grumbacher, is leading another trip to the Holy Land in February 2018. You may
