Our ArtsNorth choir were fantastic at the Opera House on Monday ! “Thank you” to the families who supported
their children to attend the event and to Ms Waterhouse for her time and dedication in training the choir.
Our AFL boys were very gallant in coming Fifth in the state in AFL. This is an extremely successful outcome as
many of these teams play together on the weekends as well as at school. Congratulations on your amazing
skills and “thank you” to Ms Kelsall for her coaching and managing of our AFL team.
“Thank you” to Mrs Stevenson for her organisation of our team for the Zone Athletics Carnival and the whole Zone Carnival. Congratulations to Lauren Trbojevic, Luke Trbojevic, Ben Trbojevic, Jordan Biggs, Rachel Fear, Tayha Young, Evan Kaporis, Max Stevenson, Joel Wiles, Harry Allen, Michael McGrath and Angus Prior who will be representing our school and the Zone at the Regional Carnival at Homebush on Monday. Foyer Changes
Have you noticed our new money collection post boxes in the foyer ? Come in for a visit and have a look. We
now have boxes where payments for excursions, term accounts and sport events can be made. No more
waiting in line to hand in payments ……just drop the envelopes with name and event on the front into the
appropriate box. The boxes have labels and pictures so that our younger students can find the correct box.
“Thank you” to those parents who have so diligently paid their term three accounts. We still have a considerable
amount of money outstanding and reminders will be coming home from the office shortly. Term Four is fast
approaching so we would appreciate all Term Three accounts being finalised before the end of the term.
The SMURFS
The advanced screening of the SMURFS will be taking place next Monday….tickets will still be on sale on
Monday. This event is open to all students not just the band. The band committee is managing the event as a
fundraiser but all students are invited to attend. The most recent flyers went home today and tickets will be on
sale on Monday outside the library. Don’t miss out !
Staff Changes
Mrs Blinkhorne commences her long service leave today and Ms Rosemary Malone will be teaching 6B in her
absence. Mrs Blinkhorne will be returning to school early in term 4.
Congratulations to Mr Rees who has been successful in gaining a transfer to Artarmon Public School from the
commencement of next year. We will be very sad to lose Mr Rees, but professionally it is wonderful opportunity.

Paul Kelly Cup – State Finals 2011
On Wednesday 7th September, our AFL team went out to Blacktown Olympic Park to
participate in the State Finals for the Paul Kelly Cup. There were 24 teams in total and we
played 3 pool games. We lost our first game against Bowral 33-32, we then won our second
game against Rissallah 66-0. We knew we had to win our third game to have any chance to
make it into the finals and the boys pulled together and played an amazing game of football
to beat Belmont 49-22.
We then had our quarter finals against Coogee. Now, Coogee smashed us at the last gala
day, but the boys focused on playing our game and working together as a team.
Unfortunately, we lost 35-22, but what an effort!!!!
500 schools participated in this competition and we are Equal 5th in NSW – WOW – I’m so
proud of all the boys – my cheeks are still hurting from smiling so much!!!!!
I would like to thank all the parents for their help, support and encouragement. We could
not have gotten to our carnivals without you, and we would not have gone so well without
your constant cheering and enthusiasm- so THANKYOU
I would also like to thank all the boys for your dedication, the way you represented your
team and school, and your belief in yourselves and each other. You played some outstanding
football throughout the competition and you should hold your heads high. You are Equal
5th!!!!

Congratulations to all students who were involved in the 2011 ArtsNorth Primary Choral
Concert at Sydney Opera House on Monday night. What an amazing night it was!
The ArtsNorth choir sang in a combined choir of approximately 700 students which was
a great experience. The quality of singing was outstanding. Thank you for all your hard
work and dedication.
We also had some students involved in the Northern Sydney Schools Wind Orchestra
who played superbly; their high quality of musicianship and performance should be
commended.
Well done everyone!

COLLAROY SURF CLUB The Collaroy Surf Club would like to extend an invitation to all students who may be interested in joining
the Club and participating in surf life saving activities over the upcoming 2011-12 Season.
Collaroy Surf Club has a proud history in respect to family participation, competition and services to the
Community. Our junior member (Nippers) activities cater for Surf Awareness and Participation from age 5
to 13 years. From there, Nippers move into the transitionary Cadets section before joining the seniors.
There’s something at the Club to cater for all interests and all levels, whether that be on the Beach or in
the Water. Children might simply want to gain an awareness of Surf Lifesaving and basic surf skills
through to elite Competition at State and National levels. Parents are also encouraged to participate, with
many gaining their Bronze Medallion.
Nipper registrations will be taken on September 11th & 18
th 2010 from 9am-12pm, upstairs at the
Clubhouse on Pittwater Rd, Collaroy. (New members - remember to bring your birth certificate). Or at
Collaroy beach when the season starts on Sundays from October 16h at 9.00am.Enquiries can be made
to Martin Bowyer at [email protected], on 0418 662 358, or at the club website

North Narrabeen SLSC North Narrabeen SLSC would like to invite you all to our Nippers registration days on the 11
th & 18
th of
September 2011 at the North Narrabeen Surf Club, Malcolm Street, North Narrabeen. Between 9am &
noon.
Our aim at North Narrabeen is to educate our children to be competent and safe in the beach/surf
equipment. Surf knowledge and techniques are gradually introduced to the children in relation to their
age and ability; ultimately at the age of 13, they will attain their Surf Rescue Certificate, which is one short
step below the Bronze Medallion. Nippers participate in age groups starting from 6 through to 14.
Whilst all children are encouraged to improve their surf skills through regular competition, no children is
forced or pressured to do something he or she does not want to do. We ultimately just want to see the
children have FUN at Nippers and enjoy coming to the beach each Sunday.
Extra coaching in both water and beach events is available to all Nippers who wish to improve their skills.
