DAY 2
I. OPENING:Summary of the previous lesson through a prayer:
From the Sacred Scripture and Church Teachings
Short review of the previous meeting's discussion on Resurrection.(Review of answers on the Synthesis Activity)
II. INTEGRATION (Continuation of the Lesson)
A. Scripture Reading- Luke 24: 13-35 - The Road to Emmaus Story - Questions for text analysis and short discussion:
o Why did the disciples not recognize Jesus?o How did they come to know that it was Jesus who was with them?
Through the breaking of the breado What is the significance of the breaking of the bread for the Jews?o What was meant by Jesus when he broke the bread with his disciples?
Link: Jesus’ breaking of the bread is a table fellowship with his disciples. This is an act of sharing and giving himself up for others. How can we experience Jesus sharing himself for us today?
B. ContextualizationJoey Velasco’s Hapag ng Pag-asa at Hapag ng Pag-ibig
The students will be asked to analyze the picture of the Hapag ng Pag-asa The teacher explains the artist’s background and context of painting the image. The
teacher elicits from the students the message of hope in the context of the situation of the children in the painting.
After the first image, the students will be next asked to analyze the picture of the Hapag ng Pag-ibig and compare it with the first. The teacher elicits from the students the message of love as reflected on the comparison of two images.
The teacher relates the message of hope and love with the message that the Resurrection of Christ brings.
Message: The message of the Resurrection is that death (suffering and pain) is not the final word but HOPE is. The Risen Christ makes Himself present to all, but he is recognized only by those who choose to "see" him with the eyes of faith - those who LOVE Him and believed.
In our time today, how can Jesus, the Risen Christ make himself present to us?= in our everyday activities, especially how we deal with our neighbor= in the celebration of the Eucharist (breaking of the bread)
III. APPLICATION
The Resurrection calls us to follow the Risen Christ in words and deeds. It also challenges us to experience the truth of the Risen Christ everyday in others and in the Eucharist.
- How do we make the Risen Christ present today in our concrete daily acts with others?
Covenant Card Making
(The teacher explains/reviews the meaning of a covenant: an agreement, a promise and commitment with God.) Instruction to the students:

o The card will be guided by a Rubric (for qualitative grading).
(The card making will be given as homework).

1. What is the relevance of the Resurrection in our Christian faith?2. How can we experience the Risen Christ in our daily acts with our neighbor?3. How can we make present the reality of the Risen Christ as a community of believers?
