How to applyThe ESA Foundation awards numerous scholarships annually; this is the process for applying.

1. Browse scholarships - From the main scholarship page, start by selecting the state of your residence, not where you go to school. Click “Search scholarships” to view the full list of opportunities for the 2013-14 academic years.

2. Create a scholarship account – Once you have identified some potential scholarships, click “Apply now” to access our online scholarship application system. We'll collect your contact, financial, and academic profile information to customize your scholarship search and speed your online submission.

3. Submitting an application - Scholarship applications are submitted online through the automated system and the information collected will be passed along to the scholarship director.

4. After submission - When the application has been determined to meet the Foundation's criteria, it is forwarded to Scholarship Coordinator who checks to see that the applicant meets the necessary criteria. The application is then sent for judging of the particular scholarship for which the student is applying.

High School Seniors, Bring Your ‘A’ Game for Wendy’s High School Heisman

 The Wendy’s High School Heisman (WHSH) Award program is accepting applicants for its 2016 class. The Wendy’s High School Heisman Program is looking for all types of high-achieving seniors from more than 29,000 public and private high schools within the U.S. We consider young men and women who participate in a wide range of sports and school and community activities. If you’re one of the 1.4 million high school athletes across the country that excels in the classroom, on the field, and within your school and community, apply now. Twelve national finalists and their families will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City where they will attend and be recognized at the official Heisman ceremony. 

Winners – one male student and one female student – will be honored with the WHSH Award during a national ESPN telecast and receive $10,000 for their school, as well as a

$500 Wendy’s gift card.  

AES Engineers

 The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. Scholarship CriteriaOur belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program10 $7,000 Scholarships Awarded

The Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Arizona who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Arizona; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2015 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation

Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)

Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)

Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 Be a resident of Arizona; and Be a United States citizen

Coca-Cola Scholarships

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.

The Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation proudly continues its support of Two Year Colleges through the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Program by providing up to $237,500 in stipends. 200 stipends are awarded annually across four tiers of recipients in varying amounts: Fifty New Century Gold Scholars are awarded $1,500, fifty Silver Scholars are awarded $1,250, and fifty Bronze Scholars are awarded $1,000. This scholarship is administered by Phi Theta Kappa, and application details can be found on their website, www.ptk.org.

Current high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools);

Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise is Phi Theta Kappa’s first scholarship program available to its members to be used during the time they are enrolled in community colleges. 180 scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded based on applications submitted by members. This scholarship is administered by Phi Theta Kappa, and application details can be found on their website, www.ptk.org.

Panfilo H. Contreras Honorary Student ScholarshipThe Panfilo H. Contreras Honorary Scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2013 by ASBA’s Hispanic-Native American Indian Caucus. Hispanic and Native American Indian students who are juniors or seniors in high school are eligible to apply for this scholarship to support their attendance at an accredited post-secondary institution. Last year’s scholarships were $1,000 each. The scholarships will be presented at the opening session of the ASBA-ASA Annual Conference.

Only students who have submitted complete entry materials will be considered. The committee will designate an alternative recipient to receive the scholarship award if for any reason the initial named recipient is unable to fulfill the award requirements in a timely manner.

CRITERIAThe worthy student:

Shall be a Hispanic or Native American Indian junior or senior of an accredited public high school in Arizona in a district whose

governing board is an active member of the Arizona School Boards Association.

Shall enroll in an accredited institution in Arizona.

Shall have maintained a high school record that reflects high academic achievement and regular attendance; respectable

leadership and citizenship among peers; and sustained participation in school/community activities.

The Scholarship Committee will select the most qualified student in accordance with the award criteria and guidelines.

Stokes Educational Scholarship PrgmAbout the Program The Stokes Educational Scholarship Program (formerly known as the Undergraduate Training Program) was proposed and introduced into legislation in 1986. Its purpose is to facilitate the recruitment of individuals, particularly minority high school students, who have demonstrated skills critical to NSA.

Stokes provides a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience in your field while attending college and getting a degree. Stokes is open to high school seniors planning on majoring in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.

As an NSA employee with the Stokes Program, you will attend college full-time, receive up to $30,000 per year for tuition and mandatory fees; and work during the summers at NSA for 12 weeks in areas that are related to your course of study. You'll acquire real-world experience and receive a year-round salary. Please note: must maintain a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale after your freshman year, if selected as a program participant, you are required to work in your area of study for NSA after your college graduation for at least one-and-one-half times the length of study. If you leave NSA employment earlier, you must reimburse the government for your tuition.

Computer ScienceNSA computer scientists work in such areas as applications programming, computer security and graphics, and the design and implementation of software involving database management systems, real-time systems, networking and distributed processing systems.

Computer or Electrical EngineeringThe challenges and experiences in these areas range from pure and applied research, design, development and testing to project management and systems analysis. You will be involved in projects that focus on communication systems, computer security and networking, microprocessor applications, software engineering and optics.

Completed applications need to be submitted to a school principal or the head of an officially designated local organization by the last weekday in October. These organizations are:* Girl Scout councils * County 4-H organizations * American Red Cross chapters * YMCAs * Affiliates of HandsOn Network(Employees of Prudential, NASSP, or any of its affiliates, and any firm involved in the program, their children, and previous National Honorees are NOT eligible. Arizona Milk Producers ScholarshipWin a $12,000, $10,000 or $8,000 Scholarship

Scholarships may be used at any Arizona University (No Junior College). Funds are issued to the university he/she attends (in Arizona), to be applied to expenses incurred in achieving their educational goals.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2016 competition.

Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed;

permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Male and female students compete separately.

The 2016 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications for the 2016 contest are available to download after September 1, 2015. The application must be submitted to the Elks Lodge nearest to the applicant's home by December 4, 2015. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student's permanent U.S. address. Applications must advance through local, district and state competitions to reach national judging. At each level of judging, the Elks National Foundation Scholarship Office will send email notifications to applicants informing them if they advanced in the contest or not. The first round of email notifications will be sent in mid-January, after Lodge judging is completed. District judging will be completed in late January, and State judging will be completed in mid-February.

In late April, the 20 top finalists will participate in a Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000. The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners, and notify them in writing, by late April 2016. (Many local Lodges, districts and state Elks associations award their own scholarships through this program. These scholarships are not to be confused with the 500 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarships.)

Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. AXA Achievementsm ScholarshipThe AXA Achievement Scholarship is awarded to 52 students nationwide – one selected from each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Each state winner receives a scholarship award of $10,000. American Legion HS Oratorical Scholarship Program

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest

Prize: 1st place- $10,000 & expense paid trip to Boston, MA, 2nd place - $1,000 and up to 5 finalists will received $500 each.

Eligibility

The contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home schools; U.S. students under the age of twenty enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program in any of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, or the U.S. territories; and U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Past winners and finalists are not eligible to participate. Employees of John Hancock Financial Services and members of their families are not eligible to participate.

Requirements

The contest deadline is Wednesday, January 6, 2016.

Essays can be no more than 1,000 words but must be a minimum of 700 words. Citations and bibliography are

not included in the word count.

Essays must be the original work of the student.

John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Edward M. Kennedy are not eligible subjects for essays.

Essays must describe an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official that occurred during or after 1956, the

publication date of Profiles in Courage.  The official may have addressed an issue at the local, state, or national

Essays about past recipients of the   Profile in   Courage Award    will be disqualified unless they describe an act of

political courage other than the act for which the award was given.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study, and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

-demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;

-demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);

-demonstrate financial need;

-be citizens of the United States of America;

-be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and

-plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

In addition, semifinalists must be nominated by an eligible community leader, such as a high school principal, elected official or executive director of a nonprofit organization, and must provide documentation to certify academic performance and financial need. ASU’s Leadership Scholarship ProgramThe Leadership Scholarship Program (LSP) recognizes outstanding high school graduating seniors who have achieved excellence in leadership. Twenty-one high school seniors from Arizona and up to four out-of-state high school seniors are selected for the scholarship each year. Established in 1977 to develop exceptional leadership skills among promising scholars, this program has a long-standing history at Arizona State University. More than a scholarship program, students become integral members of the university community.

Students in the program will participate in the following:

Two leadership development courses designed specifically for this program. Mentoring by an ASU staff member. Monthly meetings with all current ASU LSP students. Social activities, such as a leadership retreat and holiday events. Community service. Networking with LSP alumni. Living on the campus of their major (required for first-year recipients).

Financial Award

The LSP award is one of ASU’s institutional scholarships. ASU does not combine institutional scholarship awards. In the event you become qualified for a New American University Scholarship award (i.e., President’s, Provost, Dean’s, Regents High Honors Endorsement) and are selected for the Leadership Scholarship Program, you will only receive the scholarship with the highest value. If accepted into the Leadership Scholarship Program, participation is mandatory. The LSP award is a $9,000 annual scholarship for resident students, renewable for three additional years (for a total of eight consecutive semesters). The LSP is a $13,000 annual scholarship for non-resident students, renewable for three years (for a total of eight consecutive semesters). Recipients may use the scholarship for tuition and fees, housing and other educational expenses.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be nominated by high school counselor. 3.25 unweighted GPA. History of community service/volunteering and involvement with clubs and organizations. Must be able to provide verification of citizenship, permanent residency, or other lawful immigration

status.

Ron Brown Scholar Program

The Ron Brown Scholar Program also provides Scholars with the financial resources to attend some of the finest colleges and universities in the country. Upon acceptance, Scholars are each awarded $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years toward educational expenses), that may be used at the college or university of their choice. Acceptance into the Program means Scholars are also provided with the nurturing and mentorship to succeed and flourish in college and beyond.  The Ron Brown Scholar Program has a proven track record of academic success with a 99 percent graduation rate. Graduating Scholars go on to outstanding careers in the arts, sciences and public service, and many more pursue professional degrees in law, medicine and business.

Program DescriptionThe Ron Brown Scholar Program (RBSP) honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans.  RBSP competitively awards Ron Brown Scholars four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship – the four pillars of the late Ronald H. The Gates Millennium ScholarshipDescription

Funded by a $1.6 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GMS was established in 1999, as a twenty year commitment, to provide greater access and opportunity to higher education for outstanding students from underrepresented backgrounds (1,000 selected each year; 20,000 in 20 year commitment).  The program promotes academic excellence and encourages students to pursue and complete an undergraduate education in all discipline areas and graduate education for those students pursuing studies in computer science, mathematics, life/physical science, engineering, education, public health, library science and/or information science. Elks Legacy Award Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships ($1,000 per year for four years) for children and

grandchildren of Elks members. The Foundation will offer a total of up to 250 awards.

Who is Eligible? 1. For the 2015 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a

living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2012, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2012, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2015. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.

Arizona Elk SocietyAnnual Youth Scholarships

All recipients must exhibit a commitment to wildlife and the outdoors and participate in school-related responsibilities and activities.Applicants for each of the two high school student scholarships must be Arizona residents and graduating high school seniors with plans to attend an accredited college. All students, both high school and college, must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants for the college student scholarship must be pursuing a degree in and/or closely related to wildlife science from an accredited college or university.

Awards of up to $7,500 per year is given to outstanding high school graduates. Beyond the financial support, JRF offers mentoring, internships and leadership development support and workshops for scholars. The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program rewards students who have succeeded both inside and outside of the classroom—and who may not be able to attend college without

financial assistance. It’s a reward for what you’ve made of yourself and the difference you are making for others.

The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is offering:

Valley Foundation Scholarship

The Foundation has established some mandatory requirements that you must meet in order to remain eligible for this award.  These requirements are:

 You must be a full time student (completing at least 12 credit hours per semester). You must provide the Foundation with a copy of your class schedule at the beginning of

each semester. You must provide the Foundation with an official copy of your transcript at the end of

each semester.  Note: You are required to submit an official transcript for the Spring semester in which you were awarded your scholarship to be in compliance for this initial award.

You must maintain a G.P.A. of at least 2.5 in every semester for which you are receiving scholarship funds.  If you drop below a 2.5 GPA in a semester, the funds for the following semester will be revoked.

Note:  Courses taken for grade replacement will not be considered when calculating full time attendance or G.P.A. requirements

It is important that you note these requirements and submit the appropriate documents each semester.  Students who do not stay in compliance will not be eligible for the second half of their award or for renewal consideration.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund (JMSMSF)

I. Qualification/Eligibility

a. US Citizen or permanent resident of US

b. GPA of 3.0/equivalent or higher (out of a 4.0 scale)

c. High School Senior who will matriculate full-time at a US accredited four-year college or university within the fifty states or District of Columbia.

d. Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services or other extra curricular activities.

e. Combined adjusted income of the parent(s) cannot exceed $50,000.

II. Required Documentation

a. Application - Mail the complete application packet so that it is received or postmarked on or before the deadline date of March 31st.

b. Official Transcript - An official copy of the applicant’s high school transcript provided by the high school staff in a sealed envelope must be included in the application packet. Submission of an application along with the required documents for this scholarship constitutes your authorization for the JMSMSF Scholarship Selection Committee to review your academic record.

c. Financial Document – The submission packet must include a copy of the applicant’s Student Aid Report (consists of three to four pages) from the Department of Education or FAFSA. If applicant can’t obtain any one of these reports, the applicant can submit a copy of the parent’s income tax return (Submit only the front and back of the IRS Form 1040 or IRS Form 1040 EZ) for the year prior to the year in which the application packets are due. (WILL NOT ACCEPT INCOME TAX RETURNS OF ANY OTHER YEARS). For example, you should submit your parent’s income tax return for tax year 2015 in the application submission packet due on/or before March 31, 2016.

d. High School Senior Picture - A high school senior picture or a picture taken above the waistline and in color. The picture must be an original or printed on official photo paper. Do not submit any picture taken at an angle. Applicant is required to print his/her full name on the reverse-side of the picture.

e. Essay – Each candidate must provide a 500-1000 word essay focusing on “Describing his or her planned undergraduate study and how he or she plans to apply it upon graduation” or “Who is your role-model and how he or she has influenced/impacted your life”. The individual cannot be a relative.

Willcox CowbellesMarguerite Cook Memorial Scholarship

2016The Willcox Cowbelles was established in 1946 as a cattlewomen's organization dedicated to promoting beef and the cattle industry. One of the organization’s goals is to award college scholarships to deserving area youth pursuing an agriculture-related degree or to those whose family owns a ranch or farm and at least 50% of their family income is from agriculture.

The Marguerite Cook Memorial Scholarship was established in 1977 in honor of the late Marguerite Cook, who was a charter member and the first president of the Willcox Cowbelles. Scholarships are $1000 a year ($500 per semester). Recipients may attend an accredited college or university of their choice. Recipients will receive funding upon evidence of college registration as a full-time student. To be eligible for second semester funding, students must maintain a 2.0 (C) grade point average or better.

Criteria:1. Applicant must be a high school senior or enrolled in an accredited college or university.2. Applicant must be pursuing an agriculture-related degree or the applicant's family must receive at least half of their income from their family-owned or operated ranch or farm.3. Applicant must demonstrate scholastic ability.4. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

Enclosed are application forms for the Marguerite Cook Memorial Scholarship. These application forms must be completed and submitted by March 31, 2016. Applications postmarked after March 31st will not be accepted.

Prina Family Scholarship Fund

The Prina Family’s goal is to provide a scholarship for students who graduate from a public high school in Graham County, Arizona with the following criteria:

• Must be a high school senior or graduate of a traditional district public high school in Graham County, Arizona. (No charters, private schools or home-schooled graduates.) • Preference for students who demonstrate financial need, as determined by the FAFSA. • Attending a college or university following high school graduation. • Minimum high school unweighted GPA of 3.25. • Must submit SAT or ACT score. • Student in any field of study at any undergraduate level. • Selection will be based on characteristics of leadership, academic achievement, community involvement, the concepts and organization of essays, references and financial need.

Award Details: • The Prina Legacy Scholarship is intended to fill the financial need of students between federal, state, institutional and private scholarships up to the cost of attendance as determined by the post secondary institution. Awards are renewable up to 5 years with demonstrated progress toward a Bachelor degree. The value may be up to $10,000 per year. • The Prina Family Awards is a 4-year renewable award. The amount and number of awards will vary depending on type of school and student financial need. The amounts may range from $3,000 – $12,000 spread out over 4 years.

• The student must allow ACF to receive information for their school regarding their full financial aid package. • Scholarship award may be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and some additional academic related expenses. • Awards are renewable up to 5 years with demonstrated progress toward Bachelor degree. Students must submit transcripts, financial aid letter, and a one-page annual report to ACF for renewal as requested. Students are required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA to remain eligible.

Mt. Graham Regional Medical CenterMedical Staff Healthcare Scholarship

Purpose:To provide financial assistance to qualified students who have exhibited a high degree of motivation in school, and who wish to pursue a career in healthcare. Each applicant must be a senior in high school to be eligible for a scholarship award of $500.

Criteria: Pursuing a career in healthcare (ex. Physician, nursing,

radiology, laboratory, respiratory and/or paramedic) Have applied or be in the process of applying to an accredited

college or university Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

Plan to graduate from one of the high schools in Graham/Greenlee county

Participation in both school and community service activities within the past 12 months.

Applications:Must be completed by the student and signed by the parent/guardian and student. Also required are a transcript and two letters of recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant such as teachers or employers, who can discuss the applicant’s scholastic potential and personal qualities. Gene Ridlon ScholarshipSafford Post 32 of the American Legion

Purpose: To provide a Graham County high school senior or a Graham county high school graduate the opportunity to finance their education for the semester at EAC. Applicants must be a descendant of a veteran who has participated in one of the following conflicts: World War I, World War II, Koran War, Vietnam War, Panama Conflict, Granada Conflict, Lebanon Conflict, Desert Storm or recent conflicts. The scholarship provides the tuition for a full time students for the fall semester at EAC.

Limitations: If an application qualifies for any other scholarship providing for a full fall semester tuition at EAC, that student will not qualify for the American Legion scholarship. Applicants must be a Graham County resident of the current school year and be a senior in or graduate of a Graham County high school when applying. The chosen applicant must maintain a minimum of 2.8 grade point average during their college work to be considered for a renewal of the scholarship for another fall semester.

FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising)

Each year, FIDM awards over $300,000 in scholarships through our National Scholarship Competition.

Seven first place winners who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Digital Media, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, or Product Development will each be awarded a fully, one-year scholarship to attend FIDM, which includes tuition, fees, books, and most supplies (minus any other scholarships or grants awarded).
