Dear Parents, Friends and Students of Our Lady Star of the Sea We made it!!! Semester One 2019 is now done and dusted and it is time for a well-deserved two-week rest. Our school continues to thrive with more and more families hearing of the great things we are doing and making OLSOTS their school of choice. We hope to welcome many more families that are new over the course of Semester Two.
Congratulations: Congratulations to Archie Martin, Everlee Major, Scarlett Hawke and Makayla Hayward who all made their First Holy Communion on Sunday 23 June. All reports from teachers, family members and parishioners were how beautiful the event was. Well done to all involved. Culminating Activities: I hope many of you with children in Years 3-6 had the opportunity to pop into school this week and see your child’s Integrated Project culminating activity, displaying the wonderful and engaging work they have been doing throughout the term. Students also had the opportunity to take part in a ‘Gaming Convention’ on Wednesday, where our upper primary students had put a modern twist on traditional carnival games with the use of technology like our robotics and coding resources. A great way to conclude the term!

Semester One Reports: Coming home today will be your child's Semester One report. Please take the time to look through the report with your child and praise their wonderful achievements and effort over the course of the first two terms. Last Call for Pre Kindy 2020: If you have a child who was born between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017, they will be eligible to attend Pre Kindy next year. We again have had an overwhelming response to the program. At the beginning of next term, I will be processing our applications and contacting families who have gained entry to our Pre Kindy in 2020 for an enrolment interview. P & F Events: Please lock in the first weekend back at school for fabulous community events organised by our P & F. It begins with the annual OLSOTS Dad’s Night held at school on Friday 26 July and is followed by the OLSOTS Mum’s Winter Mixer at The Pier on Saturday 27 July. Thank you to our P & F Team and Dale Mott for organising these community events for us all to enjoy. Date Reminder: Please take note of these upcoming key dates:
Friday 5 July – Pupil Free Monday 22 July - Pupil Free Tuesday 23 July – School resumes for students Thursday 25 July – NAIDOC Mass led by Year 2/3
