Conference Information

The conference is located on the East Bank Campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The University of Minnesota campus is located east of downtown Minneapolis and is accessible by the Metro Transit Green Line light rail by stopping at the “East Bank” station. All conference activities take place in the following buildings:

Coffman Memorial Union (CMU): Registration, breaks, plenaries, and all sessions on Monday, May 15 through Friday, May 19. Smith Hall, Room 100: IMA Public Lecture by Michael Berry on Monday, May 15. McNamara Alumni Center: Banquet dinner on Tuesday, May 16. Weisman Art Museum: WAVES Unplugged event on Thursday, May 18.

Registration

Registration takes place on the third floor of Coffman Memorial Union 8:00-10:00 on Monday through Thursday of the conference. If you need to register outside of these hours, please contact the staff.

Internet

Wi-Fi is available throughout the University of Minnesota’s campus. You can access the Wi-Fi through “eduroam” with your institution’s credentials, or through the “UofM Guest” network.

IMA Public Lecture by Michael Berry Smith Hall 100, Monday, May 15, 19:00

Sir Michael Berry from the University of Bristol will give the IMA Public Lecture “How Quantum Physics Democratized Music: A Meditation on Physics and Technology” on Monday, May 15 at 19:00.

Conference Banquet McNamara Alumni Center, Tuesday, May 16, 18:45

The conference banquet will take place at the McNamara Alumni Center on Tuesday, May 16. Refreshments will be served at 18:45 and dinner will be served at 19:15.

McNamara is conveniently located at the center of campus and is accessible by the Green Line train via the East Bank station.

WAVES Unplugged at the Weisman Weisman Art Museum, Thursday, May 18, 17:30

Social gathering starting at 17:30 including live music, access to the Weisman art museum galleries, light hors d’oeuvres, and drinks. Come socialize with fellow conference participants while enjoying beautiful views of the Mississippi river and of Minneapolis skyline.
