Lost PropertyThere are a large number of unlabelled uniform and clothing items in our lost property box

outside the canteen. Parents and students are encouraged to check this box before the end of

term. At the end of the term all unclaimed uniform items will be donated to our P&C second hand

uniform shop and unlabelled non-uniform items will be donated to charity.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)At Wamberal Public School, we are safe, respectful learners. This week, all students have been

learning about being safe, respectful learners when ‘online’.

At Wamberal Public School our students are taught to use the Cyber 5 to stay safe online. Students

are also taught to be a cyber upstander.

Discussion questions include:

Why is it important to do the Cyber 5?

What is the role of an upstander?

Who is someone you can report to?

Teachers are rewarding students with SRLs for demonstrating the school’s expectations of safe,

respectful learner behaviour.

Cybersafety Information and Supports forFamiliesWith the average Australian household owning 17 internet-connected devices, it's important for

every family to have a cyber hero in their household. Whether it's setting strong passwords, or

assessing what smart devices need to be connected to the internet at all, there are simple steps

you can take to minimise the risk of hackers and keep your family safe online.

Stay Smart Online, as part of the Australian Cyber Security Centre, has developed a handy FAQ

sheet on the top 10 questions Australian parents have about online security, and a guide to pop on

the fridge at home as easy references year round.

Head to www.staysmartonline.gov.au/parents to download these resources.

You can also follow Stay Smart Online on Facebook and subscribe to their free email Alert Service,

to keep up to date with the latest online threats and how to manage them.

Families seeking practical skills and advice about helping children of all ages in having safe and

enjoyable online experiences can also access information and support via the

https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents.

Coding in the Library

Students in Stages 1, 2 and 3 have been exploring various coding activities this term. These

“Scrat” here and here, and BB-8 here for Stage 1 and, for Stages 2 & 3, Angry Birds here. We have

also explored Scratch.
