2021-2024. This plan will be closely aligned to;

The School Excellence Framework Version 2;

NSW Department of Education State Plan;

Publications from CESE (Centre for Education Statistics & Evaluation);

Current Educational Research;

Local needs and priorities.

We will spend a signicant time analysing the wide range of data available prior to the

commencement of the actual planning process. We anticipate the plan to be uploaded onto the

school website by the end of Term 1, 2020.

CongratulationsA special congratulations to Miss Realph who will be taking some leave from next Thursday in

preparation for her upcoming wedding. We wish her and her future husband all the very best and

look forward to welcoming her back soon as Mrs Forsberg.

Education WeekNext week we celebrate the outstanding work done in NSW schools and especially the work

accomplished here at Wamberal P.S. The theme for 2020 is ‘Learning Together’ which is

especially appropriate given the increased partnership we have all experienced this year. Our

students will celebrate with a range of great activities throughout the week. We invite you to

attend our online Assembly next Friday 7th August where we will share some highlights from

throughout the week.

P&C Mufti DayWe are hosting a special Mufti Day next Wednesday 5th August for our Band Committee to raise

money to support attendance at Band Fest 2020. To ensure the event is safe for all during current

restrictions, please note:

A gold coin donation is encouraged and will be collected in a single bucket at the school gate (or

YMCA) upon entry to the school. Funds will be counted using an electronic coin counter to

minimise unnecessary handling and maintain safety for all.

Students may wear mufti on the day, however need to ensure they wear covered footwear and sun

safe hats.

fantastic new facility for our Stage 2 and Stage 3 students to enjoy. The new facility includes a

Tell Them From Me Student SurveyLast term our school like many other public schools in the state participated in the Department of

Education initiative the Tell Them From Me Student Feedback Survey. The condential survey

focuses on student wellbeing, engagement and eective teaching practices.

Through the survey, our students have told us amongst other things that:

90% of students have positive behaviour at school (compared to the NSW Government Norm

of 83%)

21% of students have been subjected to bullying (compared to the NSW Government Norm of

36%)

83% of students report eective learning (compared to the NSW Government Norm of 83%)

Our school uses the results from the Tell Them From Me Surveys as part of a suite of school data

that is used to inform school planning, directions and excellence.

Later this term, Tell Them From Me Parent and Teacher Surveys will be open. These online

surveys complement the student engagement survey, with students participating in a second

survey during this time. The parent survey data can help our school to:

understand parents’ perspectives on their children’s experience at school;

understand parents’ perspectives on activities and practices at home related to their children’s

learning;

engage the school community in discussions to identify strategic directions for school

improvement; and

establish quantitative improvement measures which help our school to track achievement

against them.

We will be sending out links for the surveys once they are open. Please keep a look out for this

information as it is really important for the school to get balanced and accurate information on

parent perspectives. Last year only 28 parents responded and we would like to see that number

signicantly increase this year. Frequently asked questions about the Tell Them From Me Parent

Survey are available here and if you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact

Jane Rees at the school.

PBL Rewards Menu for Term 3Our PBL Rewards Menu is informed by feedback from our students about the types of rewards

they would like to work towards each term. The Term 3 PBL Rewards Menu has been developed

using the feedback from our students. The menu is now available in all classrooms and a copy is

available for our parents and community on our school website. We thank our P&C for their

ongoing support of our positive behaviour initiatives and specically for the sponsorship of the

prizes in the lucky draw.
