ROOM 114 – CLASS NEWSWHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?This week in math we did some fun

activities with fractions, which is the focus of our current math unit. We practicedcomparing fractions using “fraction burgers”.

We also practiced finding fractions in anactivity using Skittles. We will continueworking with fractions after the break.

In our current IB planner, students arefocusing their inquiry on Agents of Change .The central idea of this planner is thatindividuals have made contributions throughlanguage, science, and the arts . This weekstudents finished up their research and startedwriting their rough drafts. Students areexpected to be working on their rough draftsover the break.

In literacy, students finished theirpoetry books. Students should have sharedtheir book with you. The poetry book will beincluded in our portfolio. Because of the shortweek, we did not have spelling words thisweek.

Patrols had a great time bowling onTuesday. Students also created marshmallowsnowmen and enjoyed a movie in theirpajamas. Have a great holiday! See you in2011!!
