We are so glad that you are with us today! Our service will
be to praise and worship God and to encourage and uplift us to face another week. We will sing (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16), pray (James 5:15-18), and partake of the Lord’s Supper to remember our Savior’s sacrifice on the cross (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 11:23-26). We will also give back a portion of the monetary blessings that God has granted us so that we can carry out His work in our community (1 Cor. 16:2, 2 Cor. 9:7). We will also study a lesson from His Word that will hopefully be applicable to our daily lives, so that we can be equipped to handle the pressures of this world and reach those outside of Christ (2
Tim. 2:15).

As we continue to practice our safety measures, we have the foyer classroom available for those that choose to wear masks for worship and Bible study. This room is designated as “mask required” for each service. Additionally, an FM radio transmitter will be used to broadcast the services on 107.7 FM for those who want to participate by staying in their cars in the Maryann Street parking lot.

Congratulations to MacKenzie Setser on being selected the Valedictorian of the 2021 Gilmer High School G r a d u a t i n g class. Congrats MacKenzie for all your hard work!!
Welcome to the Ellijay Church of Christ this morning as we resume our regularly scheduled “in-person” classes and services! I am so appreciative of everyone’s patience and flexibility during this difficult time, and I am looking forward to us being together today. As we outlined in the email and call out this week, all social distancing protocols will remain in place, and everyone is encouraged to wear a mask when coming into close contact with others. The “mask-required” room is still
available off the foyer as well.
We will continue to have one adult Bible class in the auditorium throughout the remainder of this Winter quarter, and the youth classes will also be a little different. Grades 7-12 will meet in the conference room this morning and then in the new teen room next week. Grades 6 and below will meet in the 2nd and 3rd grade classroom. The plan is to go back to a full rotation of classes in March!
I also want to take a moment to encourage everyone to be part of our digital parenting workshop next week. The schedule of events is included here in the bulletin, as well as a description of the sessions. Lunch will be served both Saturday and Sunday and will be pre-packaged and “COVID-friendly.” On a side note, I am certainly looking forward to old-fashioned potlucks again soon! Parenting in the digital age is so critical as we seek to learn how our kids relate to each other and the world. This workshop is not just to learn how to monitor activity, although that is tremendously important, its about our overall goal as families and how to nurture and foster faithfulness in the home.
I hope you have enjoyed the online devotionals over the past few weeks, and I pray that we have participated in the nightly family devotionals that have been provided. We will continue with those, so get started even if you have not been involved thus far. Spending time discussing spiritual matters in the home is a cornerstone of growth and brings family members closer together.
While schedules are out of sorts and we are battling sickness and struggles, we are so blessed to be part of the Ellijay church family. I love being your preacher, and I am so proud to be part of our staff and leadership team. 2021 is going to be a banner year as we strive to glorify God in everything we do together!
